Story
Ashok (Sai Balaji) is a fun-loving college student who is
very passionate about music. He is a gifted singer. He meets
Gauri (Kanchi Kaul) and falls in love with her. But the difference
in status separates them. They get united again and when everything
was right, something unexpected happens that makes them live
separately for a couple of years. Things are not same again
when they meet each other. Gauri is engaged to Vinod (Manoj
Bidwai). Meanwhile Suchitra (Swetha Agarwal), the next-door
neighbor of Ashok falls in love with him. The rest of the
story is all about how the lovers get united again!
Artists
performance:
Main Leads: As a debutant Siva Balaji impresses crowds
with his dances and histrionics. But again there is some Tamil-scene
in his mannerisms. He looks average. Kanchi Kaul did a pretty
matured and performance oriented role in this film and does
justice. Swetha Agarwal is bubbly and gave a lively performance.
Manoj Bidwai acted in a brief role. Though he is pretty suitable
for character, his dialogue delivery is not lip-syncing with
dubbing done to him. And facial expressions does not have
Telugu nativity.
Other
characters: Siva Reddy got a lengthy role as pal of hero.
He impresses with his sardarji getup. Uttej also does well.
Chandra Mohan has lot of footage in the film as emotionally
suffering father of heroine. He is at his best, as usual.
Vizag Prasad gets another role of nagging dad in this film.
Technical
Departments:
Screenplay - direction: Suresh Krishna is always known
for his style in taking. He excelled with the taking of the
film again. The entire film looks rich and stylish. But unfortunately,
Suresh Krishna failed to inject soul in to the film. The emotions
did not get elevated due to unimaginative direction. It is
sad to see such a prolific director like Suresh Krishna concentration
more on style than the substance. His screenplay is very plain.
Dialogues:
Posani Krishna Murali, who is known for his mass dialogues,
has written dialogues for this love story. Most of the dialogues
are good. But the blending of comedy is not sensible enough
to tickle your humor bones.
Art:
Artwork by Anand Sai is worth applause. The selection of locations
and interiors is of good taste.
Music:
The main asset of this film is soulful music by Anand Milind.
The usage of different instruments and lively orchestration
helped the music a lot. Even the background music is very
different from the run-of-the-mill stuff we see in regular
films. They arrest your attention with the music. The picturisation
of songs is also very imaginative and Suresh Krishna should
be commended for the same.
Production:
The corporate production house 'Nimbus Motion Pictures' has
maintained rich production values. But they should have concentrated
more on the script on the film than the glossiness of the
project.
Analysis:
This film has everything in right proportions - soulful music,
stylish taking, exotic artwork, good choreography, neat dialogues.
But what it lacks is soul and substance. This film has the
hero and director from Chennai. The producers, music director
and heroines are from north. Only Posani Krishna Murali is
a Telugu guy in the main technical crew. Hence, there is bound
to be nativity problem in the film and it showed up.
