Story
Krishna Murthy (Sivaji) is an atheist who travels to
Annavaram on the severe insistence of his aunt (Rama
Prabha). Sailaja (Laila) is an extremely religious girl
who wants to go to USA for further studies. She is also
traveling to Annavaram to get blessings of Lord Satyanarayana.
Krishna Murthy and Sailaja happen to share the same
Berth in the train. When they arrive at Annavaram, they
are forced to share the same room as husband and wife
(Mr. & Mrs Sailaja Krishna Murthy) due to the local
room-allotment rules.
Due to certain
incident, Sailaja and Krishna Murthy are separated in
Annavaram. Each one of them do not know whereabouts
of other person. Sailaja and Krishna Murthy realize
that they had fallen in love. They start searching for
each other in Hyderabad city. The rest of the story
is all about how they find each other.
Artists Performance
Sivaji is very
appropriate for the role of Krishna Murthy and performed
his role with impressive ease. Laila did well as the
leading lady, but the tenderness in her face and chirpiness
in her smile seems to have faded away with time and
age. Sony Raj is adequate as the TV anchor. Dharmavarapu
Subramanyam walks away with honors in comedy department
followed by Brahmanandam. Tanikella Bharani is excellent.
Rama Prabha, Giri Babu, Raghu Babu, Rajesh and Duvvasi
Mohan are adequate. Abhinaya Sri sizzles in an item
song.
Technical Departments:
Story:
Here comes the 4th film in the inspired series of Hollywood
flick Serendipity. In the past, three films came with
the similar storyline (Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu, Okariki
Okaru and Love Today). This film also draws major inspiration
from another Hollywood flick 'On the line' for certain
episodes in the second half (especially billboard advertisement).
Since the story has come in 3 Telugu films already in
similar lines, the freshness is lost.
Screenplay
- direction: It is a completely turn-around project
for director Siva Nageswara Rao who specialized in kidnap-dramas
like Money and Sisindri. The mark of Siva Nageswara
Rao is completely absent in this film. However, he succeeded
partly in getting the feelings of the main leads in
a compassionate way. Handling of second half is a tough
job and the director handled it in a decent way. Screenplay
and direction of this film is sufficient.
Dialogues: Dialogues by Dr. Srinath and
Nivas are adequate. The comedy dialogues by Dharmavarapu
Subramanyam - though bit raw - went well with the crowds.
The dialogues written for emotional scenes oozes certain
philosophy: Ex:- 'Maata ni ardham chesukovataniki bhasha
ravali. Kaani mounam ardham chesukovataniki manasunte
chalu'
Music:
Music by Rohit Raj is an asset and most of the songs
in this film are melodies. Background music is also
good. This debutant music director is a good future
prospect for Telugu film industry. How ever, the last
two songs of this film acted as like speed breakers
to the film's flow.
Other Departments:
JayaKrishna Gummadi's photography is good. Editing by
Gowtam Raju is fair. Production values by Atluri Purna
Chandra Rao are decent.
Analysis: First half of the film
is decent and second half is a bit slow. The plus points
of the film are Sivaji, music and decent handling of
subject. The minus point is the oft repeated story.
There are two factors that would work well for this
film compared to there other films (NMNT, Okariki Okaru
and Love Today)
1.
If the other films cater to the youth segment, this
film targets the middle class family crowds with its
title and narration.
2. This film is reportedly made on a very low budget
(below 1.5 crores). It is easy to recover this money
if the film is decent enough.
Due to the
above 2 factors, this film has all chances to become
a decent money earner. And thanks to the producer Atluri
Purna Chandra Rao for keeping the budget way below the
market standards and producing it with decent production
values. You may watch it once.
