Story

Pandu (Sachin) is a man with no mental growth. Even after entering 20's, he would be studying in elementary school in which his mother (Bhanu Priya) works as teacher. He accidentally bumps into a girl called Priya (Sandali Sinha). Priya is engaged to her family friend Vicky (Rajiv Kanakala). Vicky teases Pandu badly and ridicules him. Then Priya realizes that Pandu is her childhood buddy. Then it is revealed that Priya's father (Benarjee) conspires with Vicky's father (Sayaji Shinde) to kill Pandu's father (Naresh) in the past. Pandu is given special powers by a self-abandoned ever-living baba. The rest of the story is all about how Pandu uses those powers to win the heart of Priya and to teach a lesson to the villain gang.

Artists Performance

Playing a mentally challenged character and making audience sympathize for the character needs lot of talent and homework on the part of the actor. Sachin could not fulfill the challenges offered by the role. He needs to reduce the weight as well. Sandali Sinha is pleasant with good expressions and spontaneity. She is taller than Sachin and it shows up in the film. Bhanu Priya and Benarjee are adequate. Rajiv Kanakala is OK. Sayaji Shinde's Telugu dubbing is bad. Venu Madhav's Phone Booth comedy (inspired by Colin Farrel's Phone Booth) with Brahmanandam as hidden shooter is very good. Master Deepak is cute as Sardarji with muduru dialogues.

Technical Departments:

Story: Story - given by Satyanand - is inspired by Hindi blockbuster 'Koi Milgaya'. The ET concept is replaced by Baba in this script. The age-old technique of making hero and heroine know each other in flashback episode of childhood is used. The story in second half is routine.

Screenplay - direction: Screenplay of the film is mediocre. Direction is not up to the mark. Narration of the film has gone haywire in the second half. SV Krishna Reddy seems to be losing grip over filmmaking as his movie number is increasing. He failed in bringing out the emotions in this film.

Other departments: Music by Anand Raj Anand is impressive. But all the songs have strong Bollywood flavor and orchestration. A couple of songs are straight lifts of the songs scored by the same music director in Hindi. Photography by Ajayan Vincent is good. He exploited the greenery of Ooty hill station well. Fights by Amin are very unrealistic with too much of threadwork. Dialogues by Chintapally Ramana are adequate. Production values by Gireesh pictures are good.

Analysis: First half of the film is mediocre. Second half is bad. Climax of the film is hurried up. The plus points of the film are music and 'Phone booth episode' by Venu Madhav. The negative points are direction, screenplay and narration. This film is a disappointment from Gireesh Sanghi (Owner of Vaartha newspaper). He is definitely capable of producing a better film. Let us hope that he would choose the right team for his next venture.
