Story
Madhu (Venu) is the owner of a huge beauty clinic. He
is a bigtime casanova who does not believe in love and
marriage. He has two girls - Sirisha (Laya) and Kalyani
(Kalyani) falling for him and pestering him to love
them. The climax of the film involves Madhu marrying
one of these girls.
Artists
Performance
This role is very typical one for Venu and he did
well. Laya looks pretty glamorous in this film, though
there is no individuality and sensibility to her character.
Kalyani looks pretty cute. The only breather in this
film is given by comedy artist Kondavalasa Lakshmana
Rao who got a role that utters 'neeku telusu
naaku telusu'. Telangana Sakunta did a role that is
exactly reverse to what she has been portraying so far,
i.e. role of a meek and dutiful wife of Kondavalasa.
Technical
Departments:
Story: There is no story in the film except for
the last 30 minutes. Ironically there is a dialogue
in the film by Giri Babu goes like 'Story jarapavammaa',
which means that please fasten the story. The same dialogue
applies for the pace in the entire first half of the
film. There is no story at all! The most unconvincing
aspect is the 'bullet episode' in the flashback of Kalyani.
Screenplay
- direction: SV Krishna Reddy - who delivered a
hit in the form of 'Pellam Voorelithe' - failed this
time with the film 'Pellamtho Panenti..'. The screenplay
of the film is dull. The comedy timing did not workout
in the entire first half. The direction is clichéd.
Other
departments: Dialogues by Diwakar Babu are partly
good, but could not elevate the film because of the
lack of comedy timing by the director. There is one
suggestive dialogue that goes like 'ataniki experience
vundi kada' (Kalyani tells this dialogue why she
love hero even though he is a casanova). Music by SV
Krihsna Reddy is routine. He recycled his own tunes.
The choreography for Kalyani's solo song is impressive.
Photography by C Ram Prasad is good.
Analysis:
First half of the film is boring. Second half is slightly
better. There is no 'feel' in the film as it lacks soul.
There are occasional good comedy scenes in the second
half. Except those few comedy scenes, this film offers
nothing. The title 'Pellamtho Panenti' is a misnomer
and it has no link to the basic storyline of the film.
We have to wait and see how this film would work out
at Box office!
