Story

Simhachalam (Srihari) is a honest DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police). He believes in final justice even if could be achieved by unlawful means. In his mission to eliminate criminals from the city, he gets Sivaramaraju arrested. This makes Dora Swamy Raju (Prakash Raj) - the most dreaded factionist from Rayalaseema - come to Hyderabad to eliminate Simhachalam. The rest of the story is all about how Dora Swamy Raju attempts to cook the goose of Simhachalam and how Simhachalam counterfeits it to become victorious.

Artists Performence

Srihari: Srihari gave controlled performance in this film. Looks like he has pondered over the continuous flops he got in the last year and decided to chose good scripts. His characterization is molded to glorify the strengths of Srihari.

Prakash Raj: The character of Prakash Raj enters during the interval scene. He carried the entire second half on his shoulders. The character of Prakash Raj is little similar to his Obulesu Reddy character from Okkadu. But he makes sure that he is not redundant. Prakahs Raj emerged as the one man who can change the fate of the film (like he did for Dil film) if he is given the right character.

Others: Meena suited the role of dutiful and gusty wife of the hero. Sunil has got a comedy role in this film. Telangana Sakuntala generated good amount of comedy in her brief role.

Technical Departments:

Story: The story of the film is based on the heroic police officers in real life like Surendra Babu and Ramanjaneyulu. The story has got good mass elements and right kinds of twists. Most of scenes in this film are weaved by the news items we read in dailies.

Screenplay - direction: The debutant Indra Kumar has done a commendable work for a newcomer. He has got good knowledge on elevating mass scenes and writing good screenplay. He made sure that the second half of the film is very tight with an interesting screenplay. For the starters, Indra Kumar's real name is Akula Siva. He was supposed to make his debut through '1va number kurradu' in the past, but was dropped later for some unknown reasons. Indra Kumar is definitely a director to watch out in the future.

Dialogues: After a long gap, I have seen Posani Krishna Murali doing some sensible work. His dialogues are very good in this film. There are witty (sarcastic) dialogues and cool mass dialogues as well. One such one liner that is hit with the crowds is Prakash Raj saying 'Rayalaseemalo arachukoru - poduchukuntaaru'. There is another dialogue that compares pickle making and bomb making that ends with 'pachadi tinte batukutaaru .. bomb veste chastaaru'. There another interesting observation that says 'Ekkado South Africa lo Mahatma Gandhi ni train dinchite .. India ki swatantyam vachindi. Ee vishayam munde telisi vunte .. british vallu train dinchi vunde valle kaadu'.

Music: Mani Sharma's background music is a definite asset to the film. There is one inspirational background song in this film that elevated the scenes. There are two duets as well.

Other Departments: Photography by Dutt is good. Stunts by Vijayan are impressive. It relatively high-budgeted film for the range of Srihari. The producer has made this film with conviction.

Analysis:
This film starts on a routine note. The first half is average. Secong half is good with interesting twists (thanx to Prakash Raj). The 'counseling episodes' by hero in the first half are good. However, there are many characters in this film that were left without giving them an ending. The police officers can proudly watch this film. 'Simhachalam' is a minimum guarantee film that has all probability to become a hit like 'Bhadrachalam'.
