Story
Aravind (Nagarjuna), Chandru (Sumanth) and Krishna Murthy
(Sudhakar) are childhood friends. They are inseparable. Chandru
and Krishna Murthy are orphans, who are generously brought
up by the parents of Aravind.
By
the time they reach their 20's, Aravind's sister Amrita (Pratyusha)
falls in love with Chandru. Chandru hesitates to love her,
as she is the sister of his close friend Aravind. Chandru
seeks the help of Krishna Murthy to give him some tips to
avoid Amrita. After the entire episode, Aravind and Chandru
visit Hyderabad to join the work done by Krishna Murthy.
When
this trio goes for a job of renovating an old palatial house,
Aravind encounters a cute girl Padmini (Bhoomika). A mischief
by the jealous cousin sister of Padmini invokes a love from
the side of Aravind towards Padmini. When Padmini was about
to get engaged to a third guy Chandru jumps in to spoil the
party and announces that Padmini cheated Aravind after loving
him.
The
rest of the film is about how the pairs of Arvind - Padmini
and Chandru - Amrita get united in the climax.
Performances:
Artists:
Nagarjuna:
Nagarjuna is as charming as ever. But what takes beating is
his characterization. He has donned the role of a meek friend
who gets dominated by Sumanth all the time.
Sumanth:
Sumanth tried his best to perform well with in his limitations.
But, ultimately, the output is not up to the mark. Sumanth
is a negative factor for this film. He is given a predominant
role. But he could not do justice to his role. His dialogue
delivery is pathetic.
Bhoomika:
She enters the movie one hour after the start. She looks cute
in the first half. But viewer cannot accept to see her in
a wife role in the second half.
Technical
Departments:
Story:
Siddique's story is full of sacrifices and misunderstandings.
This story may work well for the Tamil and Malayalam people.
But for Telugu people, this too-good-to-believe story is too
hard to digest.
Direction
& Screenplay: The screenplay in the first half is
very good. But in the second half, the film goes on getting
dragged. For every fifteen minutes, people start thinking
that climax is approaching. Then the director puts another
twist. The screenplay in second half is shabby and unbearable.
The direction is just average.
Dialogues: Chintapallay Ramana has given apt dialogues
for this film. The comedy dialogues in the first half are
very good.
Comedy:
Sudhakar, Brahmanandam and Ali have done an exceptionally
good job to give comic relief in the first half. All the scenes
of the film, between 2nd song and 3rd song, are totally hilarious.
But the second half has no comedy at all.
Photography:
Shyam K Naidu has done wonderful job as cinematographer. The
way village scenic beauty captured in the first song between
Sumanth and Pratyusha is simply superb.
Music
and songs: Shiva Shankar gave typical SA Raj Kumar kind
of songs for this film. A couple of songs would standout in
the first listening. They are all captured well on the screen
too.
Analysis:
First half of the film is very good. Second half of the film
bad and dragged to no end. This 3-hour long film makes to
feel bored in the second half. This film proved that the friendship
films do not work out in Telugu like they do in Tamil and
Malayalam. The strength of the film is comedy provided by
Brahmanandam and a couple of songs. The weakness of the film
is Sumanth and screenplay (in the second half). The villain
of the film starts changing the characters from the scene
to scene to prolong the story. The climax is pathetically
handled. You can see Nagarjuna coming out of coma after 5
years to fight with villains and save Sumanth at the end,
which is very cinematic and is of poor taste. Watch this film
at your leisure. You will definitely enjoy the first half.
We have to wait and see what the Telugu viewer have in store
for this Supergood banner's film!
A suggestion
to Nag: It's time for Nag to ponder over his career. He
is going on movie signing spree, without looking much into
the making of the film. He must realize that leaving entire
onus to the director does not help him much. He should selectively
sign the films and make sure that they are shaping up in the
right way. The younger lot like Pawan and Mahesh are delivering
blockbusters like Murari and Kushi by selectively doing one
film a time. Senior heroes like Bala Krishna and Venkatesh
are delivering sensational hits like Narasimha Naidu and Nuvvu
Naaku Nachav, as they realized what their strength is. Nag
too should know what his strength is and do films that cushion
his strength. All it takes for Nagarjuna to spring back into
the number one slot is one such a big hit. Hope Nag would
come up with a blockbuster soon.
