Story
Sreeram (Uday Kiran) is an unemployed youth who tries for
the police selections to become a Sub Inspector of Police.
There is a righteous police officer Narayana (Siva Krishna)
who encourages Sreeram to become a police officer. He has
a steady girl friend Madhu (Anitha). One evening, Sreeram
beats a guy black and blue as that guy misbehaves with Madhu.
Later on, Sreeram realizes that the person whom he has beaten
is a deadly CI (Circle Inspector) of Police whose name is
'Encounter Shankar' (Asish Vidyardhi). Sreeram's sister marriage
is settled with the brother of Madhu. When the marriage of
Sreeram's sister is about to happen, Encounter Shankar traces
Sreeram and beats him up badly in police station and leaves
him on a railway track and expects the train to run over Sreeram.
But luckily, the will-powered Sreeram jumps form the train
track and escapes from the death.
The
parents of Sreeram find out the beaten up Sreeram with the
help of Narayana and they join him in a hospital. The doctor
inspects the injuries, dresses him up and tells them that
Sreeram won't be able to move his body for 3 months and he
needs complete rest. But his interview for SI post is scheduled
in the next month, which requires him to be physically fit.
He motivates himself and attends interview as with 100% fitness.
In
the meantime, Encounter Shankar is under impression that Sreeram
is dead. But Sreeram is selected for the post of SI and Encounter
Shankar is asked to enquire and give the conduct certificate
of Sreeram. After confirming that Sreeram is alive, Encounter
Shankar gives a bad conduct certificate. And he also teases
Sreeram into a street fight and takes clandestine photographs
and produces them to the higher authorities as evidence.
The
hide and seek game between Sreeram and Encounter Shankar comes
to an end when Encounter Shankar comes to Sreeram's place
to humiliate him. How Sreeram win over Encounter Shankar is
that point that is covered in the climax.
Artists:
Uday
Kiran: Uday Kiran seems to have pumped up a lot of iron
to build a much better muscular body for this film. He is
cute as usual. And he improved a lot in dialogue delivery
(or we got used to his diction?). And the director made sure
that the dialogues by Uday Kiran are underplayed. Only mass
dialogue uttered by Uday Kiran in the film is 'Randiraa
Naa Kodakallara'.
Anitha:
Anitha is glamorous compared to Nuvvu Nenu. But not sizzling
enough to attract the attention of Telugu film viewers. She
played the role with lots of ease. Another one-song-heroine
Kiran Rathod puts of a lot of weight and did well in 'Pedavullo
Pepsicola' song.
Asish
Vidyardhi: It's the second time act for Asish Vidyarthi
as he donned the same role in Tamil 'Dhil' as well. He played
it to the perfection. The dubbing of Ravi Shankar (who generally
gives for Raghuvaran) also suited it.
Sunil:
Sunil has lots of comedy track in the first half of the film.
And he cracked jokes well and they are well received by the
audiences. Somebody told that he wrote most of his comedy
scenes in this film.
Technical
Departments:
Screenplay - direction: VN Aditya's forte has always been
the comedy and projection of sensitive love. And he stuffed
it a lot in the first half, as it requires the scenes of hero
falling in love with heroine. He made good use of Sunil for
comedy. But when it comes to dealing with mass elements, he
seems be unsure of whether to show them raw or underplay those
elements. There is one very good scene in second half, which
he underplayed (the scene in which Uday Kiran beats up Asish
Vidyardhi in a caste-based politician meeting).
Dialogues:
Paruchuri brothers have given pleasant dialogues. But the
mass punch is missing in the dialogues of second half.
Music:
RP Patnaik has set some standards for his music. And unfortunately
the music in this film is not up to the expectations. The
song 'Mamare
Mazaare' got good response, as it's the only situational
song in this film. 'Tiyateeyani
Kalalanu song is also good.
Thrills:
Thrills by Vijay are impressive. But the climax fight is dragged
and it appeared as if the hero and villain beat each other
up in a systematic i-take-one-and-you-take-one style.
Photography:
Photography of this film is an asset. Shiv Kumar has done
a neat job.
Analysis:
The first half of the film is pleasant with good comedy scenes
though those scenes might dilute the seriousness and impact
of the film. Second half builds up the tempo for mass elements.
Again those mass elements are not impressive enough to satiate
the viewers. The story of the film is age old one. Over the
film is average. The movie is not bad as long as you do not
mind scenes like hero escaping from death because of an 'Anjaneya
Dandakam' that comes in the backdrop. We have to wait and
see if Sreeram turns out to be a birthday gift (born on 26th
June) for Uday Kiran in the form of a hit or not.
