Story

Seenu (Gopichand) is a loyal servant and a right-hand of faction leader Reddeppa (Devaraj). He and Sailaja (Sameera Benarjee) - daughter of Reddeppa - grew together. Nayudamma (Raj Kumar) is an arch rival of Reddeppa. Factional feuds between them have resulted in loss of number of lives among their groups. When Reddeppa realizes that his daughter and Seenu are in love, he swings into action by trying to kill Seenu. Rest of the story is all about how Seenu secures the hand of Sailaja and how he unites the forces of followers in both the warring groups to teach their masters (Reddeppa and Nayudamma) a lesson or two!

Artists Performance

Gopichand: Gopichand is terrific in this film as hero. He has got rugged looks and aggressive body language. His dialogue delivery is impeccable. His comedy timing is excellent. The producer Pokuri Babu Rao made sure that he tried to magnify the heroism of Gopichand at every found occasion. The scene involving Gopichand's challenge to villain got the maximum applause from the audience.

Others: Actress Sameera Benarjee is just average. TV anchor Jahnavi stole the show with her comic portrayal of Muslim girl character 'Fathima', who speaks broken Telugu. Devaraj is competent. Raj Kumar followed the style of Jaya Prakash Reddy in body language. Prakash Raj is terrific and proved to be the lifeline towards the climax of the film. The scene in which he narrates the greatness of Rayalaseema turned out to be the most popular scene in this film.

Technical Departments:

Story: The Eetaram unit seems to have taken a pie from the Gangotri film to add 'servant - master's daughter' thread. The basic line of servant's refusal to cooperate with the selfish factionists is inspired by a Nandi Award winning play called 'Puli Swari'. This play had won a Nandi award a couple of years back. The scene showing the burial of weapons appears similar to that of one in K Viswanath's Sutradharulu.

Screenplay - direction: Preferring a director whose only film 'Manasutho' is a disaster seems to be rather a risky decision. But, the director AS Ravikumar Chowdary does a decent job in this film. His efforts in the 1st half are worth commending. But he handles the second half of the film rather insensibly with unnecessary twists.

Dialogues: After a long gap, dialogue writer Marudhuri Raja comes up with a good and sensible work. His comedy dialogues have good punches in the first half. The emotional dialogues evoke the right emotion.

Music: Music by Mani Sharma is above average. The song canned between kids is very good. The songs in the first half are good.

Other departments: Photography by Ramana Raju is good. Editing by Gowtam Raju is neat. Pokuri Babu comes up with a film that is packed with all commercial elements and an underlying message. But this film has more commerciality and less message orientation compared to the earlier films made by him.

Analysis: First 45 minutes of the film is excellent. The film's tempo drops down from the scene where the hero expresses his love for heroine in front of his master. The second half of the film meanders through unnecessary twists (performed in Teja's style). However, Prakash Raj provided the much-needed oxygen towards the last 25 minutes of the film with his dialogues and performance. Climax of the film is simple and effective. This film is definitely worth a watch for the brilliant performance of Gopichand and it's first half.
