Bala Chandar, AR Rehman and Madhavan are crowd-pulling names
today. This 100th directorial venture of Balachandar, however,
falls short of expectations.
Madhav
(Madhavan) is a celebrity doctor and is chased by a hoard
of girls for his autograph. Sheela (Sneha), a nurse in the
same hospital is one among his admirers. She remains secret
lover almost till the end. Meanwhile, Madhav gets married
to one Simi (Simran), hoping this will stop the girls from
chasing him.
Madhav
and Simi have a normal life till a woman, Rekha, (Radhika
Chowdary) a London-based surgeon and her child land up at
their doorstep. The problem begins when it is revealed that
the boy's father is none other than Madhav.
However,
Rekha says she does not want to claim back Madhav, and is
just contended with having a child by him.
But
the inevitable happens. Madhav and Simi get separated. The
rest of the film shows the couple's travails and their eventual
getting back together. A dancer (Lawrence) plays a significant
role in all their lives.
While
Madhavan manages well to keep his cool, with mild expressions,
it is Simran's immature acting that spoils the emotional part
of the drama. She fails to express scenes. Lawrence' role
is undefined. Sneha impresses and Radhika is adequate. Rehman's
music score sticks mostly to traditional tunes supported by
imaginative instrumentation.
