Idlebrain.com's Showcase - Avunaa..

Meghana productions private limited is producing it's maiden venture 'Avuna' in the direction of National award winner C Uma Maheswara Rao (of Ankuram fame). This film has the college backdrop. The producer Dr. K Ramana Kumar is a doctor by profession. Madhu Ambat - a renown cinematographer - is handling photography for this film.

Bhavatarani - the daughter of Ilayaraja - is scoring music for 'Avuna'. She won Tamil Nadu government award for her song in 'Bharati' film. She also scored music for Revathi directed film 'Mitr My Friend'. This is her first assignment in Telugu. Popular Tamil film director Bhagyaraja and 'Maine Pyar Kiya' fame Bhagya Sri are also paired up for a special performance in this film. Brahmanandam, MS Narayana, Dharmavarapu and AVS did comedy roles.

This film has the backdrop of Basket ball. Hence the hero (Adarsh), the villain (Vijaya Bhaskar) and hero's coach (Surya) took professional help and practiced the game for one month. The climax of the film - which has the basket ball contest - is said to be the highlight of this film. In stead of using college students or junior artists, the director used the real national level basket ball players in the climax for genuineness.

Santhi Rao - another Telugu girl - is making her debut with this film as heroine. This film is going to release in the month of August/September 2003.
