26th
October 2002
To
celebrate the successful 100 days marathon of Allari Ramudu,
Chanti Addala, the producer of Allari Ramudu, organized
a grand function at Silpakalavedika, Hyderabad on the 26th October.
The chief guest invited was none other than the CM of AP - Nara
Chandra Babu Naidu, who these days seems to be attending each
and every function connected with Nandamuri vamsam. And
why not? This is the least he could do in showing his avuncular
pride and concern towards the budding progeny of a mighty dynasty
of which he is a prominent and powerful 'alludu'. His colleagues
Devender Goud and Chandra Mohan Reddy also graced the function.
NTR's father Hari Krishna was also invited as a special guest.
The
function started with a mimicry performance by artist Hari Kishan
followed by dances by choreographer Raja Sekhar. Usha and Ravi
Varma sang 'Rukhmini' song from Allari Ramudu. Few
clips from Allari Ramudu were shown on the big screen.
Kota anchored the event and invited MS Narayana to perform small
skits in between, which were received well.
Dr
Rama Naidu recollected that his first film 'Ramudu - Bheemudu'
had senior NTR as hero. He gave an open offer to Jr. NTR to remake
'Ramudu - Bheemudu' with Jr. NT as the hero in the direction
of Rama Naidu himself. Rama Naidu said that he was looking forward
for the consent from Jr. NTR.
Chandra
Babu Naidu officially started the event by lighting the jyothi.
Hari Krishna was invited first to speak and he played it to the
galleries by saying that the success of Nandamuri vamsam belongs
to its ardent fans. He mentioned that people say 'Sarvendriyanam
Nayanam Pradhanam'. But he modified it by saying that 'Sarvendriyanam
Sarvam Pradhanam' to emphasize the efforts of the entire team
and not just the hero, to make a movie successful. He said that
hero is not the only important ingredient of the success of a
movie. He reiterated that everybody who worked for the movie gets
equal share. He wished his son Tarak Ram [NTR] a great success
in future.
Chandra
Babu Naidu praised NTR by saying that he has reached great heights
of popularity with just 5 films. He praised B Gopal for having
a highest success rate to his credit. Mr. Naidu, who always proves
his statements with startling facts took everyone by surprise
when he mentioned that of the 25 films made by B Gopal, 19 films
ran for 100 days films and five were 175 days films. He appreciated
Allari Ramudu film by mentioning that it ran for 50 days
in 106 centers and 100 days in 36 centers. He also urged the producers
to make message oriented films. Through out his speech, Chandra
Babu Naidu referred NTR as Chiranjeevi NTR.
Minister
Chandra Mohan Reddy was at his wits. He mentioned that the heroines
opposite NTR should be physically very strong like Nagma (referring
to the scenes in which Nagma almost carries NTR twice). He said
that B Gopal is the best commercial director with three of the
best blockbusters to his credit- Samarasimha Reddy, Narasimha
Naidu and Indra. When he mentioned the film Indra,
there was negative response from the crowds. Chandra Mohan Reddy
also talked about Telugu Cinema field becoming a lucky industry
for Arti Agarwal and he urged Arti Agarwal to marry a Telugu guy
and settle in AP.
NTR
thanked everybody for supporting his films and urged Nandamuri
fans to keep the spirit of Nandamuri vamsam high. He said that
he was always in awe of K Raghavendra Rao and B Gopal and he expressed
his happiness in being able to work with them so early in his
career with Student No.1 and Allari Ramudu respectively.
The
set erected as a backdrop for this function stood as a special
attraction with four pillars (each pillar featuring NTR, Jr. NTR,
Hari Krishna and Bala Krishna). Lot of producers attended the
function including the star producer Dr. D Rama Naidu.
