The
audio of Smita's latest album 'Club Mix' was launched
by Nagarjuna at a star-studded function in Taj Banjara
on 17th December 2005. This function was graced by
Mohan Babu, Nagarjuna, Sumanth, SS Rajamouli, MS Raju,
Keeravani, Gangaraju Gunnam, Sangeeta and Bosco Ceaser.
Nagarjuna
released the audiocassette and gave the first unit
to Mohan babu. Keeravani released the audio CD and
gave the first unit to MS Raju and Sumanth. SS Rajamouli
released the video of Club Mix. This audio is launched
by the POWER label and would be marketed by Supreme
music.
Smita
should be appreciated for her career move - Mohan
Babu
Speaking on the occasion Mohan Babu said that he was
impressed with Smita's performance at a MAA's function
and wanted to cast her in a special role for his film.
But he did not get any affirmation from Smita after
he sent the offer. Mohan Babu urged that respected
and reputed families should encourage their daughters
in films and stage shows. Mohan Babu appreciated Smita's
parents for supporting her and blessed Smita that
she would have a great future ahead.
I
owe an apology to Smita - Nagarjuna
Nagarjuna said that he came to know about Smita when
his brother Venkat recommended her for a song in Chandralekha
film. But the music director Sandeep Chowta neglected
taking Smita because he felt that she was pushed in
to the crew through the relatives of filmmakers. Later
on Smita entered the pop arena and made a mark for
herself. Nagarjuna said that he owe an apology to
Smita for not making her sing in Chandralekha film.
He wished that Smita's recording company POWER music
would make a powerful presence in the days to come.
Actor
Sumanth said that he knew Smita for a long time. Sumanth
praised Smita for spreading the pop culture and opined
that Smita always would have the 1st mover advantage
in this field.
Smita
has no jealousy - MM Keeravani
MM Keeravani explained that the meaning of 'Smita'
is smile (Chirunavvu). He said that it's natural for
any music director or singer to have pang of jealousy
on others. But Smita is an exception. A pop singer
should shed all the inhibition. Singing on the stage
while performing is a whole new art all together and
it is very difficult compared to playback singing
where singers are confined to the scenes behind. Keeravani
opined that the pure and clean heart of Smita gives
her all the success she truly deserves.
Producer
Gangaraju Gunnam felt that Smita made it to this level
purely based on her talent and the relentless support
by the parents.
We
vied for attention of Smita - SS Rajamouli
SS Rajamouli recollected his experience around five
years back when he was working as an assistant to
Gangaraju Gunnam. When Smita dropped in to see Gangaraju,
it was Rajamouli and Chandu (Chandra Sekhar Eleti
- Aithe director) who fought with each other about
who would drop Smita back at her place. Rajamouli
noticed the popularity of Smita when everybody was
asking Smita to sing 'Masaka masaka' song even in
the TV program that is meant to promote Sye film,
in which Smita sung a couple of songs.
Concluding
the function a visibly elated Smita thanked each and
every celebrity who graced this occasion and opined
that Nagarjuna has a lucky hand.
