Prologue

In 1992, a youngster performed as blind man in an intercollegiate cultural competition for 45 minutes in Penugonda. He spell bounded everybody with his performance. The next day morning, when this guy is brushing in the accommodation provided for the students from out-station, another guy approached him and marveled that the guy he has seen a night before was not actually blind. He introduced himself as a student from Bhimavaram. That person appreciated the histrionic abilities wholeheartedly. After a few years, these two guys met again in Hyderabad. And today these two people made a history for themselves by becoming famous in a short time. There two guys are music director RP Patnaik and comedy star Sunil. Since then actor Sunil has been recommending the name of RP Patnaik for artist roles. Sunil literally acted as PRO (Public Relations Officer) to RP Patnaik.

A film titled "Parvathiyum, Lakshmiyum, Pinne Nhaanum" released in Malayalam in the year 2000 starring Kalabhavan Mani. This film is about a blind man and his relationship with sister and a friend. This film went on to become a blockbuster and ran for 175 days in 6 centers of Kerala. Later this film was remade in Tamil as 'Kaasi' with Vikram as hero and became a blockbuster. If Vikram's earlier film 'Dhil' collected 8 crores, this film 'Kaasi' collected 8 and half crores.

Impressed by the theme, veteran filmmaker Atluri Purnachandra Rao bought Telugu remake rights. He approached all the top heroes with this subject and none of them came forward to do it. He asked Chandra Siddardha to direct this film. Chandra Siddardha had some other commitment and suggested that RP Patnaik would be suitable to the role as he learnt about the same through actor Sunil. After watching the original film, RP was thrilled to do it. But he had innumerous assignments as music director. He completed all his assignments and made himself free. By the time RP is free, the producer Atluri Purnachandra Rao is busy in making a film 'Venky' with Ravi Teja as hero. Then RP requested if he could find a new producer for the film. Atluri said yes. At that time, RP Patnaik was scoring music for a Kannada film titled 'Excuse Me' and the producer of that film Suresh is a fan of RP Patnaik. When RP came up with the proposal, Suresh agreed to produce this film. Then they fixed E Srinivas, who worked with B Gopal in the past as the director.

Audio function

Audio function of 'Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi' was held in high profile at Rock Gardens, Shilpa Kala Vedika today evening. The celebrities who graced this occasion include Teja, Uday Kiran, Tarun, Aryan Rajesh, Vishnu, Devi Sri Prasad, Sri, Chakri, Ghantadi Krishna, Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, KL Narayana, D Suresh, MS Raju, S Gopal Reddy, M Murali Mohan, Sudhakar Reddy, Arjun Reddy, Jhansi, Atluri Purnachandra Rao, Ashok Kumar, Chandra Siddardha, Kula Sekhar and Usha. Music director Devi Sri Prasad anchored the event.

RP will be the Kishore Kumar of Telugu - Nutan Prasad
Nutan Prasad said that he played the role of RP's father in this film. He is feeling great to get a full-length role in this flick. He said that he started him second innings after accident with 'Kartavyam' and he has done 89 films as physically handicapped so far (total films acted in is 430+). He wished that he could complete 101 films soon so that he would live up to his nick name of '101 jillaala andagadu'. He commended RP Patnaik for giving an extraordinary performance in his first attempt itself. He said that he was amused by looking at RP delivering right performance in the first take itself. He professed that RP Patnaik would become somebody like Kishore Kumar who can sing and act as well.

I took 30 days to write a song in this film - Kula Sekhar
Kula Sekhar said that he and RP Patnaik came to film industry with an aim to join certain profession and they both settled in some other professions. Now RP Patnaik is trying his hand at acting. Kula Sekhar said that 'Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi' would belong to the genre of Sankarabharanam, Swathimuthyam, Sirivennela, Seetaramayyagari manavaralu etc. Kula Sekhar rendered a song of high lyrical values from this film in this function. He said that he took almost a month to write that particular song.

Music director Sri said that RP has it in him to become a great actor. Ghantadi Krishna wished that this film would be a commercial blockbuster. Chakri said that RP is like a brother to him.

Producer Suresh said that it is a dream come true to produce a Telugu film and assured that he would be producing more films in Telugu as well.

45 second breathless rendition - RP
RP Patnaik said that Sunil helped him a lot by telling about his histrionic capabilities to everybody. As a gratitude, RP has arranged the audio function on 28th of February which happens to be the birthday of Sunil. Sunil is in Vizag for a shoot today. RP also said that he sung for 45-seconds breathless for a song in this film.

Priya who played the sister of RP in this film said that it is an enthralling experience to work for this film. Heroine Navneet thanked everybody. Murali Mohan said that Atluri Purnachandra Rao introduced him to Telugu film industry and hoped that RP Patnaik would also become a veteran in actors.

Hero Uday Kiran said that it was RP who screen-tested him for the first time for Chitram film. He also said that RP gave him many tips in acting.

Hero Vishnu said that he has ambitions of playing lead characters for films like Dana Veera Sura Karna (NTR), Premabhishekam (ANR), Swayamkrushi (Chiranjeevi), Bhairavadweepam (Bala Krishna), Chanti (Venkatesh), Annamayya (Nagarjuna), Alludu Garu (Mohan Babu), Rayalaseema Ramanna Chowdary (Mohan Babu) and M Dharmaraju MA (Mohan Babu). He wished that 'Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi' would also join that wish list.

Bhargav - a blind child who acted as hero in flashback episode of this film - released the cassette and gave the first copy to director Teja. Surya Music bought the audio rights.
