A huge gathering of fans thronged the venue from all parts of the state in special buses. Jhansi anchored the event. A troupe of dancers performed to the songs from yesteryears blockbusters of ANR and the recent films of Nag.
Launched to a hysteric fans' frenzy, Akkineni Nagarjuna sounded the clapboard on the lead pair – Sushanth and Snaha Ullal. Akkineni Nageswara Rao switched on the camera, while first shot direction was rendered by Akkineni Venkat. Family members at the launch ceremony included Amala, Nagasusheela (hero's mom), Smt. Annapurna and others. Devi Sri Prasad, who scores music for the flick enthused the gathering with his live performance on the dais after the launch.
Nagarjuna said: "I thank the Akkineni fans for all their support us all these years. You have blessed Sushanth in Kalidasu. I hope you will also do the same for Current. I will meet you all on November 23rd". (The birthday of Naga Chaitanya).
ANR said: "The actors' hierarchy in Akkineni family, starting with me and then with Nagarjuna and presently with Sushanth continues to draw huge patronage from the fans. I am proud of you (fans). You have not done any mischievous acts (Pichchi panulu), always behaved in tune with the interests of Akkineni family. You blessed Sushant in Kalidasu. You cheered him in his Vijaya Yatra. I want all you now to make this film (Current) also successful."
Nagasusheela said: "I met you all in Kalidasu's Karachalana Yatra. You showed your affection for us in a big way. I can never forget that. I feel that you have taken Sushant as one among you. Are you going to make this film Current a success once again? (To this, the fans shouted cheerily). Thanks for your support."
Sneha Ullal said: "My big thanks to you all supporting me as an actress in Tollywood. I can't speak Telugu well. I hope you will bless us, the team of Current."
Sushanth said: "How are you? I can't forget the moments I had spent with you during Karachalana yatra of Kalidasu. You have come from all nooks and corners of the state. I understand your love and affection for Akkineni family. My thanks to Thataiah (ANR), Mavayya (Nag), my mom (Nagasusheela) and Chintalapudi Srinivasa Rao garu (producer) who have always stood by me. I wish that you will continue to support me and make Current a big hit."
Chintalapudi Srinivasa Rao (Producer) said: "About one thousand fans couldn't come to the venue due to traffic jam near Jadcharla (Mahabubnagar district). It is bad luck. We didn't want to delay the program. My sincere thanks to Akkineni fans, who gave us big round of applause when we visited the state with Karachalana yatra for Kalidasu. I hope that you will continue to bless Sushanth in the same manner."
Devi Sri Prasad enthralled the audience by singing the Mass title song coupled with his vocal orchestra. Highlight is that he sang one lyric from the latest film of Nag – King. It ran something like this…. Bammardhi Bavakosam. (With tune on the lines of the song – Kaike Pan Banaraswallah in Big B's Don). The audio is releasing in a month. The film is releasing on December 18th. I have to give tunes before 23rd of this month."
