Manchu Manoj Kumar - younger son of Mohan Babu - made his debut with Donga Dongadi is acting in his 2nd film. This film is being directed by Dasarath (Santosham fame). Muhurat of this film was held at Annapurna studios on the morning of 11th May. Justice Ramana sounded the clapboard on Manoj, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shabbir Ali Khan switched on the camera. Kishore Bajaj performed pooja ceremony. Ponnala Lakshmaiah handed over the script.

Producer Mohan Babu said that he introduced his elder son Vishnu with the film Vishnu. And later made another film titled Suryam, which made Vishnu as a salable star. He also wanted to introduce his younger son Manoj on his home banner, but could not refuse the offer of Donga Dongadi from outside producers. Mohan Babu is producing 2nd film of Manoj in the direction of Dasarath. Hero character of this film has all emotions. Kona Venkat and Arun Kumar are working for Sri Lakshmi Prasanna banner for the first time. Sandeep Chowta already recorded 4 songs so far. Tamanna is making her debut as actress with this film. Mohan Babu is doing a vital special appearance.
