Launch of Prabhas’s latest film Munna was organized in Annapurna studios today (25th March) morning. Dil Raju is producing this film by introducing Paidipally Vamsi as director. NTR sounded the clapboard on hero Prabhas. Venkatesh switched on the camera and VV Vinayak directed the first shot.
Vijaya Dasami release - Dil Raju
Producer Dil Raju said, “Vamsi entered film industry with my help. He started his career in direction department with Prabhas’s debut film Eeswar. Later on his worked for hit flicks like Varsham, Mass and Bhadra. We narrated the stories of Arya and Bhadra to Prabhas first and he rejected them due to dates problem. I am happy that Prabhas finally agreed to do a film for me through Munna. Munna’s characterization suits Prabhas body language. Vamsi completed the script for Munna in 40 days. And everybody okayed this script in single sitting. I am confident that debutant director Vamsi will make a mark for himself with Munna. This film has family drama and youthful love story. The regular shooting of this film will start on 3rd of April and for every month we will shoot for 25 days and complete the film by July. We are planning to release Munna as Vijaya Dasami 2006 special.”
I am doing the role of college student - Prabhas
Hero Prabhas said, “I have done all my films so far with experienced directors. Munna is the first film, which I am doing with a debutant direct. Director Vamsi and I started our careers with Eeswar film and we are close friends. I am playing the role of college student.”
Munna will become another Ghazani for me - Harris Jayaraj
Music director Harris Jayaraj said, “It is a privilege to work for Munna. I hope that Munna will become another Ghazani in my career. Munna is coming up with good package. I will be providing youthful music for Munna.”

Debutant director Vamsi said, “I must thank my parent for supporting me throughout. It was my dream to become a film director. Marthand K Venkatesh and Marthand Shankar also helped me a lot. Dil Raju is a producer with focus and he encouraged me a lot. I would also like to thank my writers Siva and Ravi. I am very thankful to my hero friend Prabhas.”
Prabhas did not use duplicates - Rahul Dev
Actor Rahul Dev said, “I worked with Vamsi during Mass film and he is a capable person to become a director. I am amazed by Prabhas’s conviction in filmmaking. I worked with him in Pournami. The producer flew in fights from Thailand who are supposed to work as duplicates in risky climax shots. But they sat idle throughout the shoot as Prabhas did not let them work and he did risky shots himself. He used to hang on suspension wires for hours and it needs lot of stamina. I am happy to work with Prabhas again.”
