Chiranjeevi is acting in Shankar Dada MBBS - a Telugu remake of Bollywood blockbuster 'Munna Bhai MBBS'. Muhurat of Shankar Dada MBBS was held at Annapurna Studios today (25th Feb 2004) morning at 10:30 am. It was a secretly held function where only press was invited. Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao gave clap on Chiranjeevi and Srikanth. Allu Arvind switched on the camera. ARS Prasad is producing this film on Gemini Film Circuit banner. Srikanth and Paresh Rawal are playing the roles played by Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani in Hindi.

On this occasion write Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao said that they are penning dialogues for a Chiranjeevi film after Tagore. For this film too lots of nativity changes made to the story and Chiranjeevi's character is modified to suit mega image of him. He said that they narrated script to Chiranjeevi twice. And Nagababu - as an audience - thouroughly enjoyed the script by laughing out for each and every scene in this script. He also said that Srikanth is a staunch follower of Chiranjeevi in film industry and the role he is playing is very much similar to the role he plays for Chiranjeevi in real life. This film is going to 100% laugh riot with 3-4 heart touching sentimental scenes in it.

Paruchuri Gopala Krishna said that they have written dialogues for around 30 of Chiranjeevi's films and most of them turned out to be blockbusters. He said that he personally liked Chiranjeevi's character in Dongamogudu and repented for not doing that role. In Donga Mogudu, there are two characters played by Chiranjeevi - one mass and one class. If you add there two characterizations of Dongamogudu to one person - that person would be Shankar Dada MBBS. Srikanth picked up Telangana accent for his role, where are Chiranjeevi would be delivering dialogues in his usual accent. Just like Akali Rajyam had satires on aakali, Shankar Dada MBBS would have satires on doctors. This film would have six songs.

Ace producer Allu Arvind said that he is feeling like working with a family. Jayant said that he would do his best to make this film a good one. Srikanth said that he is a great fan of Chiranjeevi and his character in the film resembles the relationship he shares with Chiranjeevi in personal life.

Chiranjeevi said that he is feeling happy to work with a good team. He said that Tagore and Indra have shown him as a mass hero and this film would show him in a 100% entertaining role. If the earlier mentioned two films gave message very strongly, this film has a social message in subtle format. If Tagore attacked the hospital system and doctors in a pungent way, Shankar Dada MBBS pokes fun at medical system in a mild manner. Chiranjeevi described his experience of doing a college student as 'Letu vayasulo letha student laaga…!'. Chiranjeevi mentioned that he knew music director Devi Sri Prasad since DSP's childhood days. He was impressed with DSP work for Khagam. His work in Varsham overawed Chiranjeevi very much. Chiranjeevi said that he is feeling happy to work with a producer like Peda Babu (ARS Prasad). He said that a good producer gives suggestions for storyboard in the script making. And mentioned that such producers are capable of converting an average script into a hit film.
