Tamil
superstar Vikram made his first appearance in Telugu
films with 'Chirunavvula Varamistava' in the last
decade. He came to the film industry 10 years back
and struggled a lot while playing different types
of roles in 8 films each in Telugu and Malayalam.
His Tamil film 'Sethu' got a break for him. He did
not look back since then. The government granted National
award for him as best actor this year for his terrific
performance in Pithamagan (Siva Putrudu in Telugu).
Vikram
is Hyderabad now to shoot for his latest bilingual
film Anniyan (Aparichitudu in Telugu) in the direction
of Shankar (jeans fame). On this eve, Vikram organized
personal press meet to meet Telugu film journalists
on the morning of 15th October at Taj Residency.
Wanted
to quit films at one point of time
Vikram recalled his days of struggle. He expected
his film 'Sethu' to get lots of critical acclaim for
him. But nobody bought the rights of that film even
after 67 previews. The collections were dull in the
first week. A frustrated Vikram wanted to do multimedia
course and planned to go to USA with the help of a
friend. But the collections started increasing from
the 2nd week onwards and Vikram never had to look
back since then.
Will
do one straight Telugu film per year
Vikram showed his keen interest in acting in straight
Telugu films. He said that he is willing to act in
straight Telugu films from next year onwards.
Telugu
film personalities like Burugapally Sivarama Krishna,
Sivaraju, Tatineni Rama Rao, Madhu, Medikonda Murali
Krishna, Sivalenka Krishna Prasad. RB Chowdary, Vakada
Appa Rao, VR Pratap, Subramanyam, Atluri Purnachandra
Rao, Chinni Krishna etc were also present at this
occasion.
