Pooja ceremony of Nagarjuna's next project 'Sri Ramadasu'
was held at Ramalayam temple in Jubilee Hills on the
morning of 16th April. The celebrities who graced
to this event include ANR, K Raghavendra Rao, Nagarjuna,
Amala, Chalasani Ramesh, Konda Krishnam Raju, MM Keeravani,
JK Bharavi, S Gopal Reddy and M Raghavendra Rao.
Based
on Tumu Narasimha Dasu's work
JK Bharavi said that Annamayya is the first Telugu
vaggeyakaarudu and Ramadasu did the first bhajana
song in Telugu. Ramadasu is also the first person
to use Ananda Bhairavi ragam. JK Bharavi has traveled
extensively in the places like Nelakondapally (Ramadasu's
birth place), Bhadrachalam, Hyderabad and other historic
places to learn more about Ramadasu. He also met with
the 9th generation of Ramadasu dynasty. JK Bharavi
used the most authentic biographical piece written
by Tumu Narasimha Dasu - a contemporary of Ramadasu
- to do the script work of this film.
20
songs in Sri Ramadasu
Keeravani said that a few eye brows were raised when
Annamayya project was announced. They though that
how could K Raghavendra Rao who directed commercial
films like Gharana Mogudu and Nagarjuna who acted
in films like Shiva could do a devotional subject
like Annamayya. The success of Annamayya proved the
all-round talent of K Raghavendra Rao and Nagarjuna.
Because of Annamayya's stupendous hit, there are many
expectations on Sri Ramadasu. There would be around
20 songs in Sri Ramadasu. Majority of popular Ramadasu's
works would be incorporated as songs in this film.
Purva
Janma Sukrutam - Nagarjuna
Hero Nagarjuna opined that Lord Venkateswara blessed
the film Annamayya and hoped that Lord Rama would
bless Sri Ramadasu project. He felt that doing such
devotional films is the result of purva janma punyam.
Regular
shooting from July 2005
Producer Konda Krisham Raju said that there is positive
reaction from everywhere when this project is announced.
Music sittings of this film would be held on 17th
April in Bhadrachalam. Regular shooting of the film
would start in the month of July 2005.
Bapu
sketched Ramadasu get-up
Popular cartoonist Bapu sketched the get-up of Ramadasu
with Nagarjuna in mind. And Nagarjuna would be sporting
mustache and long hair.
