Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan stated that he never did movies for money or records, nor did he ever chase records. “I have no desires other than wanting to live like a common man,” he clarified. He recalled how, during the release of Bheemla Nayak, the previous government had slashed a ₹100 ticket to just ₹10. “Then and now, irrespective of hits or flops, it is my fans who stood by me. Whether I rose or fell, it was all because of them,” he said.

“Hari Hara Veera Mallu is the story of a warrior who fights for dharma. During the Mughal era, Hindus had to pay a tax just to exist. This character is a fictional warrior inspired by the spirit of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film also depicts how the Kohinoor diamond, found in the Kolluru diamond mines near the Krishna river, reached the Mughal Sultans,” he added. Pawan Kalyan was speaking at the Hari Hara Veera Mallu pre-release event held on Monday night at Shilpakala Vedika, Hyderabad.

• “My heart is filled with fans.”
“When Bheemla Nayak released, while other films had ₹100 tickets, mine were sold for just ₹10 or ₹15. That day, I said, ‘Who can stop us?’ I didn’t say it for money or records, but for courage and justice. I never chased records, nor did I have any big aspirations. Whatever I am today is because of my fans. I have no weapons or goons – my only strength is my fans.”

• “Age has grown, but my spirit hasn’t died.”
“My first film was Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi. It’s been nearly 30 years in the industry. Though I’ve aged, the fire in my heart is still alive. During Gabbar Singh, a fan from Mahabubnagar asked me to deliver a bumper hit. That day, I prayed to God for a hit just for my fans, and Harish Shankar made that happen. Even after the failure of Johnny, my fans stood by me. This industry is tied to money, and at one point, I even returned my remuneration. I don’t care about hits and flops; for me, relationships matter the most. This movie was made with great struggle.”

• “Trivikram stood by me during my struggles.”
“I have big acquaintances, even with people of the level of the Prime Minister, but none of that brings money. I made this film to entertain my fans. Producer A.M. Ratnam, who gave Kushi, is now bringing this film. People criticized me for doing remakes, but we didn’t have big directors, and remakes seemed like a safe bet. After one flop, I lost my grip on movies, but Trivikram stood by me as a true friend during that phase. He gave me Jalsa, which turned things around. In Trivikram, God gave me a true friend.”

• “Keeravani’s music is the soul of Veera Mallu.”
“Even when opportunities to tell new stories arose, responsibilities like running a political party and supporting my family made me prioritize remakes. But I always wanted to make great films. This film came through A.M. Ratnam and Krish Jagarlamudi. I’m deeply thankful to them. The pandemic hit us twice, and whenever I felt demotivated, M.M. Keeravani’s music reignited my confidence. Without Keeravani’s music, Hari Hara Veera Mallu wouldn’t exist. Even during the time he lost his father, he composed the background score. Director Jyothi Krishna handled the project very well. It is a father-son effort. Cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa gave his everything to make this film visually grand.”

• “Back then, Hindus had to pay tax just to live.”
“Today, as per your wish, ticket prices have been increased, and our film is releasing during our government’s tenure. Hari Hara Veera Mallu is a fascinating story. India has never attacked or invaded other nations, but we have faced repeated invasions. Our history books glorified the Mughals but never spoke of their atrocities. They praise Akbar, Shah Jahan, and Aurangzeb, but no one tells how cruel Aurangzeb was – a man who killed his own brother. Nor do they talk about the greatness of the Vijayanagara Empire. Back then, Hindus had to pay a tax to live. It was Chhatrapati Shivaji who bravely fought against such oppression. Hari Hara Veera Mallu is a fictional character who fights for dharma. The Kohinoor diamond found in Kolluru went to the Mughals through the Nizams and then eventually reached the London museum. I gave my all for Krish’s story. I even performed two dance steps for you all. I faced real-life goons in politics, but performing action sequences for cinema was still tough. I re-trained in martial arts for this film. I personally directed the action scenes in the climax. I don’t know how much the film will collect, but I wish for the success you desire. If you love the film, break the box office records. You are my strength. This heart beats for you and to repay your love.”

నేనెప్పుడూ డబ్బు, రికార్డుల కోసం సినిమాలు చేయలేదు - హరిహర వీరమల్లు ప్రీ రిలీజ్ ఫంక్షన్ లో ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్ర ఉపముఖ్యమంత్రివర్యులు శ్రీ పవన్ కళ్యాణ్

డబ్బు, రికార్డుల కోసం ఎప్పుడూ సినిమాలు చేయలేదు. రికార్డుల కోసం ప్రయత్నమూ చేయలేదు. సగటు మనిషిగా బతుకుదామన్న ఆలోచన తప్ప నాకు ఎలాంటి కోరికలు లేవని రాష్ట్ర ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రివర్యులు శ్రీ పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారు స్పష్టం చేశారు. బీమ్లా నాయక్ చిత్రం విడుదల సమయంలో గత ప్రభుత్వం రూ. 100 ఉన్న టిక్కెట్ ధరని రూ. 10 చేసిన విషయాన్ని గుర్తు చేశారు. అప్పుడు, ఇప్పుడు హిట్స్ ఫ్లాప్స్ సంబంధం లేకుండా అభిమానులే తనకు అండగా నిలిచారని తెలిపారు. నేను ఇక్కడ ఈ స్థాయిలో నిలబడినా రాజకీయాల్లో పడి లేచినా అందుకు అభిమానులే కారణమన్నారు. ధర్మం కోసం పోరాటం చేసే యోధుడి పాత్ర హరి హర వీరమల్లు. మొఘలుల కాలంలో హిందువుగా బతకాలి అంటే పన్ను కట్టాల్సి వచ్చేది. అలాంటి సమయంలో చత్రపతి శివాజీ మహారాజ్ మాదిరి పోరాటం చేసిన ఓ కల్పిత పాత్ర ఇదని అన్నారు. కృష్ణా నది సమీపంలోని కొల్లూరు వజ్రపు గనుల్లో దొరికిన కోహినూర్ వజ్రం మొఘల్ సుల్తాన్ ల వరకు ఎలా చేరిందనేది చిత్రంలో చూపించినట్టు తెలిపారు. సోమవారం రాత్రి హైదరాబాద్ శిల్సకళా వేదికలో జరిగిన హరిహర వీరమల్లు చిత్ర ప్రీ రిలీజ్ ఫంక్షన్ లో పాల్గొని ప్రసంగించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా శ్రీ పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారు మాట్లాడుతూ "చాలా క్లిష్ట మైన పరిస్థితుల్లో హైదరాబాద్ లో హరిహర వీరమల్లు ఫంక్షన్ చేసుకుంటున్నాం. లక్షలాది మంది మధ్య జరుపుకోవాలని భావించినా వర్షాల కారణంగా వేడుకను శిల్ప కళా వేదికకి పరిమితం చేయాల్సి వచ్చింది. ఇలాంటి వేడుకలు జరుపుకోవాలంటే చాలా ఒత్తిడులు ఉంటాయి. అలాంటి పరిస్థితుల్లో ఈ వేడుకకి అనుమతి ఇచ్చిన శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారికి, పోలీస్ శాఖ వారికి ప్రత్యేక ధన్యవాదాలు. రాజకీయాల్లోకి వచ్చాక మంచి స్నేహితుడిని సంపాదించుకన్నా. ఆయనే కర్ణాటక మంత్రి శ్రీ ఈశ్వర్ ఖండ్రే గారు. అక్కడి నుంచి ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి వచ్చినందుకు ధన్యవాదాలు. కార్యక్రమానికి హాజరైన ఏపీ పర్యాటక శాఖ మంత్రి శ్రీ కందుల దుర్గేష్ గారు, శాసన సభ ఉప సభాపతి శ్రీ రఘురామ కృష్ణంరాజు గారికి ప్రత్యేక ధన్యవాదాలు.

• నా గుండెల నిండా అభిమానులే ఉన్నారు
బీమ్లా నాయక్ చిత్రం విడుదల అయినప్పుడు అందరి సినిమాల టెక్కెట్లు రూ. 100ల్లో ఉంటే నా సినమా టిక్కెట్ రూ. 10, రూ. 15 ఉండేది. ఆ రోజు నేను ఒకటే చెప్పాను మనల్ని ఎవడ్రా ఆపేది అని. ఆ మాట డబ్బు కోసమో, రికార్డుల కోసమో చెప్పలేదు. ధైర్యం కోసం, సాహసం కోసం, న్యాయం కోసం నిలబడ్డాం. నేను ఎప్పుడూ రికార్డుల కోసం ప్రయత్నం చేయలేదు. నేను ఏమీ కోరుకోలేదు. సగటు మనిషిగా బతుకుదామన్న ఆలోచన తప్ప మరొకటి లేదు. నేను ఈ రోజు ఇక్కడ నిల్చున్నాను అంటే కారణం అభిమానులే. పడి లేచి పడి లేచినా దానికి కారణం మీరే. నా దగ్గర ఆయుధాలు లేవు, గూండాలు లేరు. నా గుండెల్లో అభిమానులే ఉన్నారు.

• వయసు పెరిగినా.. గుండెల్లో చేవ చావలేదు
నా మొదటి చిత్రం అక్కడ అమ్మాయి, ఇక్కడ అబ్బాయి. చిత్ర పరిశ్రమకు వచ్చి దాదాపు 30 ఏళ్లు అవుతోంది. వయసు పెరిగింది కానీ, గుండెల్లో చేవ మాత్రం చావలేదు. గబ్బర్ సింగ్ సినిమా సమయంలో ఒక బంపర్ హిట్ కావాలని మహబూబ్ నగర్ జిల్లాకి చెందిన ఒక అభిమాని అడిగాడు. ఆ రోజు నా అభిమానుల కోసం ఒక హిట్ ఉంటే బాగుండు అని భగవంతుడిని కోరుకున్నాను. హరీష్ శంకర్ వల్ల అది తిరిగి వచ్చింది. ఆ సినిమా కూడా క్లిష్టమైన సమయంలోనే తీశా. అంతకు ముందు జానీ సినిమా ఫెయిల్ అయినా అభిమానులు నా వెంటే ఉన్నారు. చిత్ర పరిశ్రమలో అన్ని బంధాలు డబ్బుతో ముడిపడి ఉంటాయి. ఒకప్పుడు నా రెమ్యునరేషన్ తిరిగి ఇచ్చేశాను. నేను చిత్ర పరిశ్రమలో హిట్స్, ఫ్లాప్స్ అన్నీ వదిలేశా. నేను ఎప్పుడూ బంధాలకే ప్రాధాన్యత ఇచ్చాను. చాలా కష్టాల్లో ఈ సినిమా చేశాను

• కష్టాల్లో నాకు అండగా నిలిచిన మిత్రుడు శ్రీ త్రివిక్రమ్
దేశ ప్రధాన మంత్రి స్థాయి వ్యక్తి నుంచి నాకు పెద్ద పెద్ద పరిచయాలు ఉన్నాయి. కానీ దాని వల్ల డబ్బులు రావు. అభిమానుల్ని ఆనందింప చేసేందుకే ఈ సినిమా చేశా. ఖుషీ లాంటి సినిమా తీసిన శ్రీ ఎ.ఎం. రత్నం గారు ఇప్పుడు ఈ సినిమా తీశారు. ఎప్పుడూ రీమేక్ లు చేస్తావని అంతా నన్ను తిడతారు. మనకేమీ పెద్ద పెద్ద దర్శకులు లేరు. రీమేక్ చేస్తే పని అయిపోతుంది డబ్బు వస్తాయనే ఆలోచించారు. నేను ఒక్క ఫ్లాప్ ఇస్తే ఆ తర్వాత సినిమాపై నాకు గ్రిప్ దొరకలేదు. అలాంటి సమయంలో ఒక్క శ్రీ త్రివిక్రమ్ నాకు అండగా నిలబడ్డారు. అపజయాల్ల నన్ను వెతుక్కుంటూ వచ్చిన మిత్రుడు ఆయన. కష్టాల్లో ఉన్న సమయంలో నాతో జల్సా చేసి హిట్ ఇచ్చారు. త్రివిక్రమ్ రూపంలో భగవంతుడు నాకు మంచి మిత్రుడిని ఇచ్చాడు.

• శ్రీ కీరవాణి గారి మ్యూజిక్ వీరమల్లుకి బలం
కొత్త కథలు చేసే అవకాశం ఉన్నా, అది పోతే అందరం ఇబ్బంది పడతాం. పార్టీ నడపాలి, కుటుంబాన్ని పోషించాలి. అందుకే రీమేకల్ లకు ప్రాధాన్యత ఇచ్చా. ఎప్పటికైనా మంచి సినిమాలు చేయాలని కోరుకున్నా. ఆ సమయంలో శ్రీ ఎ.ఎం. రత్నం గారి ద్వారా వచ్చింది.. శ్రీ క్రిష్ జాగర్లమూడి ద్వారా వచ్చింది. ఆయనకు కరతాళ ధ్వనుల ద్వారా ధన్యవాదాలు తెలుపుతున్నా. ఈ చిత్రం మీద రెండు సార్లు కరోనా ప్రభావం పడింది. సినిమా ముందుకు వెళ్తుందా లేదా అన్న నిరుత్సాహం నాలో వచ్చినప్పుడల్లా శ్రీ కీరవాణి గారు సంగీతం తిరిగి ఉత్సాహం నింపేది. ఈ సినిమా పట్ల నిరుత్సాహం వచ్చినప్పుడల్లా శ్రీ కీరవాణి గారి సంగీతం ఆత్మవిశ్వాసం నిలిపింది. శ్రీ కీరవాణి మ్యూజిక్ లేకపోతే హరి హర వీరమల్లు లేదు. వాళ్ల నాన్న గారిని కోల్పోయిన సమయంలో కూడా బ్యాగ్రౌండ్స్ ఇచ్చారు. శ్రీ జ్యోతి కృష్ణ సినిమాని చాలా బాగా హ్యాండిల్ చేశారు. తండ్రి కొడుకుల తాలూకు ఎఫర్ట్ ఈ సినిమా. సినిమాని రికార్డు బ్రేకింగ్ స్థాయిలో పూర్తి చేశామంటే ఈ చిత్రం కోసం ప్రాణం పెట్టిన వ్యక్తి శ్రీ మనోజ్ పరమహంస. పాలనా వ్యవహారాల మధ్య రోజుకి రెండు గంటలు సమయం ఇస్తే నా సన్నిహితుని స్థలంలో సెట్ వేసి పూర్తి చేశాం. ఈ చిత్రాన్ని గత నెల రోజులుగా జనంలో ఉండేలా ప్రచారం చేసిన హీరోయిన్ నిధి అగర్వాల్ భుజాన వేసుకుని తిరిగారు. ఆమెని చూశాకే నాకు ప్రెస్ మీట్లలో పాల్గొనాలనిపించింది. శ్రీ బాబీ డియోల్ ఔరంగజేబు పాత్రలో జీవించారు.

• నాడు హిందువుగా బతకాలంటే పన్ను కట్టాల్సిన పరిస్థితి
ఈ రోజు మీ కోరిక మేరకు టిక్కెట్ రేట్స్ పెరిగి మన ప్రభుత్వంలో మన సినిమా విడుదల అవుతోంది. ఈ రోజు పంతం పెట్టి చూశారు. హరిహర వీరమల్లు చాలా ఆసక్తికరమైన కథ. నాకు చాలా ఇష్టమైన సబ్జెక్టు భారత దేశం ఎప్పుడూ ఎవరిపైనా దాడి చేయలేదు. ఆక్రమణ చేయలదు. మన దేశం పైనే అంతా దాడి చేశారు. మన పుస్తకాల్లో మోఘల్ తాలూకు గొప్పదనాన్ని చెప్పారు తప్ప, వారి అరాచకాల గురించి చెప్పలేదు. అక్బర్, షాజహాన్, ఔరంగజేబుల గురించి గొప్పలు చెప్పారు. ఔరంగజేబు చేసిన దుర్మార్గాలు చెప్పలేదు. సొంత తమ్ముడిన చంపేసిన వ్యక్తి. విజయనగరం సామ్రాజ్యం గొప్పతనం గురించి చెప్పలేదు. అప్పట్లో హిందువుగా బతకాలి అంటే పన్ను కట్టాల్సి వచ్చేది. అలాంటి సమయంలో చత్రపతి శివాజీ ధైర్యంగా పోరాటం చేశారు. అలా ధర్మం కోసం పోరాటం చేసిన ఒక కల్పిత పాత్ర హరిహర వీరమల్లు. ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ లోని కొల్లూరులో దొరికిన కోహినూర్ వజ్రం నిజాంల ద్వారా మొఘలులకి చేరింది. అలా అలా చేతులు మారుతూ లండన్ మ్యూజియంకి చేరింది. క్రిష్ చప్పిన కథ కోసం నా శక్తినంతా పెట్టాను. ఈ చిత్రంలో మీ కోసం రెండు స్టెప్పులు కూడా వేశాను. రాజకీయాల్లోకి వచ్చాక రియల్ లైఫ్ గూండాలు, రౌడీలను ఎదుర్కొన్నా, ఇప్పుడు సినిమాల్లో చేయడానికి మాత్రం కష్టపడ్డాను. ఎప్పుడో నేర్చుకున్న మార్షల్ ఆర్ట్స్ తిరిగి సాధన చేశాను. చిత్రం క్లైమాక్స్ యాక్షన్ సన్నివేశాలకు దర్శకత్వం వహించాను. ఈ సినిమా ఎంత కలెక్ట్ చేస్తుందో తెలియదు. మీరంతా కోరుకునే సక్సెస్ నే నేనూ కోరుకుంటున్నా. సినిమా మీకు నచ్చితే బాక్సాఫీస్ బద్దలు కొట్టేయండి. మీరే నా బలం. మీ కోసమే ఈ గుండె కొట్టుకుంటుంది. మీ కష్టం తీర్చేందుకు కొట్టుకుంటుంది" అన్నారు.
