For the past couple of days, there has been buzz that Akhil Akkineni will be collaborating with writer Nandu Savirigana once he wraps up his on-sets film (tentatively titled Lenin) with Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha fame Murali Kishor Abburu. The project, per reports, was billed as a hilarious entertainer, with Srinivasaa Chitturi of Srinivasaa Silver Screen attached to produce.
A little digging, however, confirmed that there’s no truth to this project getting materialized. “Nandu hasn’t met Akhil in the first place, so the question of pitching him a story doesn’t arise. The reports are pure gossip and there’s not even an iota of truth in it. Akhil is fully concentrated on his project with Murali Kishor right now and then there is Anil Kumar Upadyaula’s massive period emotional drama set in the 11th century lined up,” stated an industry insider.
Nandu whose credits include writing dialogue for films like Samajavaragamana and Daaku Mahaaraj has narrated a story to victory Venkatesh last year. It’s a whacky love story with all the family elements that one associates with Venky’s films. “With the monstrous success of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, Venky is a little wary of working with a first-time director next up. There have been efforts to make the same story directed by reputed directors but that plan didn’t go well. Nandu is in waiting mode presently. He believes his story perfectly sits well with Venky and that he can deliver a box office smash but then some things are beyond his control,” added the source.
