The teaser of Nandamuri Kalyanram and lady superstar Vijayashanti-starrer Arjun son of Vyjayanthi was unveiled by the makers at an event in Hyderabad on Monday and it promises an action fest peppered with a generous dose of mother-son drama.
Approximately two minutes in length, the teaser opens with Vyjayanthi (played by Vijayashanti), a cop, who is a part of many daredevil operations. Every time she goes ahead to face death, the face that pops up in front of her is that of her son Arjun. On cue we see Arjun (Kalyanram) next. He is a perfect son who irons her mom’s uniform and even prepares meals for the family. Vyjayanthi has only one wish from her son: to see him as a cop. But fate has other plans. Soon Vizag comes under the grip of rogue elements and even police are crying for help. Enter Arjun who takes on the bad elements one by one and becomes the messiah of the people. Within no time he starts ruling Vizag with the flicker of his eye. However, his path crosses with that of his mother, who will not stop to correct any wrongdoing in front of her eyes. Is it mother versus son? We have to wait a little longer to know the answer.
Rounding up, the teaser, from the very first frame grabs our attention and promises to be a power-packed masala entertainer that is replete with high-octane action, intense drama and raw emotion. It dwells on the equation Kalyanram shares with his mother, which adds depth to the narrative. The senior pro that Vijayashanti is, she brings in authenticity and a certain fearlessness that is associated with a cop in the face of lurking danger, while Kalyanram’s got a tailor-made role that he can play even in his sleep. The electrifying energy he brings, coupled with Ajaneesh’s pulsating background score, sets the tone for a well-packaged commercial entertainer.
Also featuring Sohel Khan, Saiee Manjrekar, Srikanth and Animal Prithvi, Arjun son of Vyjayanthi is written and directed by Raja Cheyyivesthe fame Pradeep Chilukuri. Ashok Vardhan Muppa and Sunil Balusu are producing it in association with NTR Arts. It opens in cinemas later this summer.
