Popular social media platform and digital production house, Chai Bisket has decided to bring a new era of storytelling revolutionising the storytelling methods through Chai Shots. The India's first regional shorts-series OTT platform offers content in vertical format, specially designed for smartphones.
Rana Daggubati is backing this initiative. Famous entrepreneurs like Sri Harsha Majety & Nandan Reddy (Founders of Swiggy), Phanindra Sama (Founder of Red Bus), Alakh Pandey & Prateek Maheshwari (Founders of Physics Wallah), Aravind Sanka, Pavan Guntupalli & Rishikesh SR, Rohit Chennamaneni ( Founders of Rapido) and Amar Nagaram (Founders of Virgio, Ex-CEO of Myntra) are investing into this new-age platform and are betting big on this. Top VC firms Info Edge Ventures and General Catalyst, who are behind startups like Zomato, Policybazaar, Airbnb, Canva, CRED & Zepto are also a part of this.
Through Chai Shots, the founders promise that from "pitch-to-live" time will be 45 days only. That is, if someone pitches them a script then they promise to take it on floors within 45 days, provided the idea looks solid and impressive. As it is a short-series platform, each short episode is limited to 2 mins.
As the consumption of content is changing with each day, Rana said, "While I have been a part of entertainment in various forms, seeing narrative storytelling adapt to the vertical, short-form medium through Chai Shots is very exciting." Mythri Ravi recognised it as a "foundation for future of Cinema Industry" and expressed in faith the platform being a "breeding ground to find new talents."
