One of the most anticipated films of this summer, Ghaati, fronted by Anushka Shetty and directed by Krish, will no longer be releasing on April 18th. The makers were keen on the date but with the delay in VFX works, the film stands postponed.
“There’s a slight delay with the VFX works of the film. The makers will review the VFX status in the next one week or ten days and will take a call on the release date. There won’t be a major delay; that’s for sure. The makers are looking to slot the film for summer itself. The active promotions will kick off with the trailer release,” a source close to the unit confirmed to idlebrain.com.
Ghaati, a full-on action drama, is a gripping tale of revenge, redemption and retribution where a victim turned criminal rises to a status of legend. Anushka plays an authoritative character in this female-centric movie, while Tamil actor Vikram Prabhu is paired opposite her.
It is written by Chintakindi Srinivas Rao, Krish and Burra Sai Madhav, while the likes of Ramya Krishna, John Vijay, Chaitanya Rao and Ravindra Vijay are playing supporting roles. First-time composer Vidya Sagar has composed the music.
Ghaati marks the second collaboration between Anushka and Krish, following Vedam more than 14 years ago. It is a joint production venture between Krish and Rajeev Reddy’s First Frame Entertainments and UV Creations.
