The successful duo Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati, who recently delivered blockbuster films like Little Hearts, Raju Weds Rambai, and Isha, are now bringing a full-length out-and-out entertainer titled “Hey Bhagavan” to the audience under the banners of Nandipati Entertainments and Bunny Vas Works.

The film stars Suhas, Shivani Nagaram, senior actor Naresh, and anchor Sravanti in prominent roles. Directed by Gopi Achara, the movie is produced by B. Narendra Reddy under the Trishul Visionary Studios banner. The film is set for release on February 20. On this occasion, director Gopi Achara shared details about the film with the media. What is your background? How did you enter the film industry?
I worked under Kannada director S. Narayan. Suhas was my junior in school. I have been associated with him since Color Photo. I also worked on Writer Padmabhushan.

Did you write this story specifically for Suhas?
Yes, I wrote this story keeping Suhas in mind. He wasn’t involved in the scriptwriting process, but on the sets, he would share his thoughts and opinions.

How did Shivani Nagaram come into this project?
Suhas and Shivani became a hit pair with Ambajipeta. The pair had already made a mark among the audience. So, we decided to go with a familiar and successful pair and cast Shivani in this film.

What inspired “Hey Bhagavan”?
Comedy is Suhas’s biggest strength. That’s why I wrote this film as an out-and-out comedy entertainer. Along with comedy, the film also has strong emotional elements. We have portrayed the father-and-son emotion in a very fresh way. Our movie will appeal to everyone.

Have you justified the title “Hey Bhagavan”?
In our lives, there are many moments when we say, “Hey Bhagavan!” Similarly, the characters in this film also face many such situations. The title suits the movie 100 percent.

How will “Hey Bhagavan” be?
We haven’t touched upon any controversial issues in this film. From the beginning till the pre-climax, the audience will keep laughing. It is a complete comedy entertainer. In the end, we add an emotional touch. The story opens right in the first scene.

Tell us about the producers.
The producer previously made a film in Kannada. This is his first Telugu film. He supported us greatly throughout this journey. Without any compromises, he spent whatever was necessary for the film.

How did Vamsi Nandipati come on board?
Vamsi garu has been part of this journey since the script stage. I can never forget his support. We completed the movie in just 36 days. He really liked the film and came forward to back it.

Tell us about Suhas’s role.
So far, audiences have had a certain opinion about Suhas’s roles. But this time, the character will overturn their expectations. It is somewhat different from the roles he has played until now. In this movie, Suhas will entertain throughout. Naresh garu, Vennela Kishore, Harsha Vardhan, Ajay Ghosh — all the characters will entertain the audience. Working with Naresh garu was a great experience.

Tell us about the music of “Hey Bhagavan.”
The songs of Hey Bhagavan are receiving a great response. All the songs are already trending on YouTube.

What has been the response to “Hey Bhagavan” so far?
We have already screened the movie for many people. Everyone who watched it thoroughly enjoyed it. They appreciated it as a laugh-out-loud entertainer and praised it as a film that the entire family can watch together.

మీ నేపథ్యం ఏంటి? సినీ పరిశ్రమలోకి ఎలా వచ్చారు?
కన్నడలో ఎస్. నారాయణ అనే దర్శకుడి వద్ద పని చేశాను. సుహాస్ నాకు స్కూల్‌లో జూనియర్. ‘కలర్ ఫోటో’ నుంచి సుహాస్‌తో జర్నీ చేస్తూనే ఉన్నాను. ‘రైటర్ పద్మభూషణ్‌’కి కూడా నేను పని చేశాను.

సుహాస్ కోసమే ఈ కథను రాసుకున్నారా?
ఈ కథను సుహాస్‌ని దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకునే రాశాను. స్క్రిప్ట్‌లో సుహాస్ ఇన్వాల్మ్మెంట్ ఏమీ లేదు. కానీ సెట్స్ మీద మాత్రం తన ఆలోచనల్ని, అభిప్రాయాల్ని పంచుకుంటూ ఉండేవాడు.

ఈ కథలోకి శివానీ నగరం ఎలా వచ్చారు?
‘అంబాజీపేట’తో సుహాస్, శివానీ హిట్ పెయిర్‌గా నిలిచారు. ఆల్రెడీ ఆ జంట జనాల్లో ఓ ముద్రను వేసింది. అందుకే తెలిసిన జంటతోనే వెళ్దామని, శివానీని ఈ చిత్రంలో తీసుకున్నాను.

‘హే భగవాన్‌’కి స్పూర్తి ఏంటి?
సుహాస్ బలమే కామెడీ. అందుకే ఈ చిత్రాన్ని అవుట్ అండ్ అవుట్ కామెడీ ఎంటర్టైనర్‌గా రాసుకున్నాను. కామెడీతో పాటుగా ఇందులో మంచి ఎమోషన్స్ ఉంటాయి. ఫాదర్ అండ్ సన్ ఎమోషన్‌ని చాలా కొత్తగా చూపించాం. అందరినీ ఆకట్టుకునేలా మా సినిమా ఉంటుంది.

‘హే భగవాన్’ అనే టైటిల్‌కి న్యాయం చేశారా?
మన జీవితంలో ‘హే భగవాన్’ అని అనుకునే సందర్భాలెన్నో ఎదురవుతాయి. ఈ చిత్రంలోని పాత్రలకి కూడా అలాంటి ఘటనలెన్నో ఎదురవుతాయి. ఈ సినిమాకి ఈ టైటిల్ వంద శాతం సెట్ అవుతుంది.

‘హే భగవాన్’ ఎలా ఉంటుంది?
‘హే భగవాన్’లో ఎలాంటి కాంట్రవర్సీలను టచ్ చేయలేదు. స్టార్టింగ్ నుంచి ప్రీ క్లైమాక్స్ వరకు అంతా కూడా నవ్విస్తాం. కంప్లీట్ కామెడీ ఎంటర్టైనర్‌గానే ఉంటుంది. చివర్లో ఓ ఎమోషనల్ టచ్ ఇస్తాం. ఫస్ట్ సీన్‌లోనే కథను ఓపెన్ చేస్తాం.

నిర్మాతల గురించి చెప్పండి?
నిర్మాత ఇది వరకు కన్నడలో ఓ సినిమాని చేశారు. తెలుగులో ఆయనకు ఇదే మొదటి సినిమా. ఈ ప్రయాణంలో ఆయన మాకెంతో సపోర్ట్ చేశారు. ఎక్కడా కాంప్రమైజ్ కాకుండా సినిమాకి ఏం కావాలో, ఎంత కావాలో అంత ఖర్చు పెట్టారు.

వంశీ నందిపాటి గారు ఈ సినిమాలోకి ఎలా వచ్చారు?
వంశీ గారు స్క్రిప్ట్ దశ నుంచీ ఈ ప్రయాణంలో ఉన్నారు. ఆయన సహకారం నేను ఎప్పటికీ మర్చిపోలేను. ఈ మూవీని కేవలం 36 రోజుల్లోనే పూర్తి చేశాం. వారికి సినిమా చాలా నచ్చింది. అందుకే ఈ మూవీని తీసుకునేందుకు ముందుకు వచ్చారు.

సుహాస్ పాత్ర గురించి చెప్పండి?
ఇంత వరకు సుహాస్ పాత్రలు అంటే జనాల్లో ఓ అభిప్రాయం ఉంది. కానీ ఈ సారి వారి అంచనాల్ని తలకిందులు చేసేలా ఉంటుంది. ఇంత వరకు సుహాస్ చేసిన పాత్రల్లా కాకుండా కాస్త డిఫరెంట్‌గా ఇందులోని కారెక్టర్ ఉంటుంది.ఈ మూవీలో సుహాస్ ఆద్యంతం నవ్విస్తూనే ఉంటాడు. నరేష్ గారు, వెన్నెల కిషోర్, హర్ష వర్దన్, అజయ్ ఘోష్ ఇలా అన్ని పాత్రలు అందరినీ అలరిస్తాయి. నరేష్ గారితో పని చేయడం ఓ గొప్ప అనుభూతి.

‘హే భగవాన్’ మ్యూజిక్ గురించి చెప్పండి?
‘హే భగవాన్’ పాటలకు మంచి స్పందన వస్తోంది. ఆల్రెడీ అన్ని పాటలు యూట్యూబ్‌లో ట్రెండింగ్‌లోనే ఉన్నాయి.

‘హే భగవాన్’ మీద ఇప్పటి వరకు వచ్చిన రెస్పాన్స్ గురించి చెప్పండి?
‘హే భగవాన్’ మూవీని ఇప్పటికే చాలా మందికి చూపించాం. సినిమాని చూసిన వారంతా కూడా చాలా ఎంజాయ్ చేశారు. కడుపుబ్బా నవ్వించే చిత్రమని మెచ్చుకున్నారు. ఫ్యామిలీ అంతా కలిసి చూసే సినిమా అని ప్రశంసలు కురిపించారు.
