The second teaser of Manchu Vishnu-front-lined Kannappa was dropped on Saturday and it sets the stage for an exhilarating roller-coaster ride of action, drama and emotional depth, with interesting cameos in the mix.
The teaser, spanning 1: 24 minutes, ushers viewers into an era gone by where warfare was constant. It opens with a tribal woman prophesying that their peaceful gudem (hamlet) will run into trouble with multiple invasions, while a character played by Sarath Kumar asks his fellow folks not to panic. We get to see flashes of Mukesh Rishi, Madhoo, Raghu Babu, Raghu Karumanchi and so on before we are introduced to Dr M Mohan Babu who says lord Shiva’s army is mobilizing somewhere to fight the forces that are threatening their place. Vishnu is introduced next as Thinnadu, piercing arrows with precision into the soldiers of the opposite forces. “Not just thousands let them come in lakhs. We will settle scores,” a battle-ready Thinnadu thunders. He is an atheist but soon turns into a pious Shiva bhakt. The transformation seems to form the crux of the story. The teaser concludes with a glimpse of Rebel star Prabhas as pulsating background score plays in the background.
In conclusion, the teaser promises a generous dose of high-octane action, drama and romance, making the film a complete entertainment package. The action, in particular, establishes itself as one of the most attractive aspects of the film, while we can’t wait to see the cameos by Akshay Kumar and Prabhas. On the other hand, Vishnu’s intense portrayal, brimming with ferocity, suggests that Kannappa will be one of his iconic roles of his career.
Written by Manchu Vishnu and produced by Mohan Babu, Kannappa, directed by Mukhesh Kumar Singh, is scheduled to release on April 25th.
