As lady superstar Vijayashanti turned a year older on Monday, the makers of Nandamuri Kalyanram’s next project offered a peek into her character from the untitled film and dare we say it takes us back to the good old ‘90s where the actress played many a powerful cop roles and set the benchmark for cop dramas.
Little over 30 seconds, the glimpse introduces Vijayashanti as a no-nonsense IPS officer Vyjayanthi who commands the respect of everyone from her department. She is fierce, battle-ready and means business. Describing her character, Kalyanram says her mere touch will give a police pistol valour, while equating her with a war and him as her army. Towards the end, we see a side glimpse of him, in a stylish avatar, trudging along, while the teaser concludes with a close up shot of Vijayashanti marching along in her uniform with shades, cutting a stern pose.
In conclusion, the glimpse establishes Vijayashanti’s character well and with Kalyanram saying that he is her army, we should be prepared for an adrenaline-pumping action drama, with two powerful performers in action. The rousing background score by Ajaneesh Loknath adds to the intensity of the glimpse.
Written and directed by Pradeep Chilukuri (of Raja Cheyyi Vesthe fame), #NKR21 is produced by Ashok Vardhan Muppa and Sunil Balusu under Ashoka Creations and NTR Arts. It is presented by Muppa Venkaiah Chowdary. On sets presently in Hyderabad, the likes of Sohel Khan, Saiee Manjrekar and Srikanth form the supporting roster.
