Pekamedalu team adopts a unique promotional strategy to attract eyeballs

The makers of Pekamedalu, featuring Vinoth Kishan, have adopted a unique promotional strategy in tune with the film’s theme to gather eyeballs. As a part of this, Kishan dropped a video where he is seen requesting the viewers to scan the QR code on screen to help him assist with the money to promote the film. “I play an interesting character called Laxman in the film, which has come out well. I’m confident about its box office prospects. However, we are lagging behind in promotions; we need some money. Please help me. If you scan the QR code, you can donate Rs 5, Rs 10. The film will definitely do well and after release, I will give back your money with interest. It’s a promise,” he said.

Turns out, if you scan the QR code it directs you to another video where the leading lady Anoosha Krishna, who plays Laxman’s wife Lakshmi in the film, warns that the video is a ruse by Laxman to seek money. Don’t fall for the trap, she advises, while simultaneously asking the viewers to watch the teaser and song of the film, the latter of which describes the traits of Laxman.

Written and directed by first-timer Neelagiri Mamilla, Pekamedalu is produced by actor Rakesh Varre under his banner Crazy Ants Productions. Smaran Sai has composed the music of Pekamedalu, while the screenplay has been written by Hamza Ali, Sreenivas Ittam and Neelagiri Mamilla. The lyrics and dialogues have been penned by Bhargava Karthik.
