The trailer of Nithiin and Sree Leela-starrer Robinhood was dropped at an event in Hyderabad on Sunday and it promises a no-holds barred entertainer.
A little over two minutes and 30 seconds, the trailer introduces Nithiin as Ram who changes his name to suit the agency he works for. He is a thief who steals from the rich. While the police led by Shine Tom Chacko are on the hunt for him, he joins a security firm, which is tasked with providing highest security cover for Neera Vasudev (Sree Leela), who is the daughter of a big shot from Australia. She is visiting India on purpose. The security agency offers senior citizens as security for Neera, with Ram heading the unit. A character played by Rajendra Prasad is also a part of the cover. Soon Ram starts flirting with Neera, while a character played by Vennela Kishore warns her. As entertainment segments come and go in droves, the trailer later transitions to serious mode with the entrance of a character played Devdatta Nage who is into illegal activities and his path crosses with that of Ram. To know what happens next, we have to wait for a few more days.
Rounding up, it’s obvious that the director-actor duo of Venky Kudumula and Nithiin have made this film for one purpose: to provide maximum entertainment. And it just offers that. Nithiin takes over from where he left off in Bheeshma and so does Vennela Kishore. Rajendra Prasad is the latest addition to this mix and the veteran is in his element, with his one-liners landing perfectly. His chemistry with Nithiin is on point. Humour aside, the trailer is packed with some impressive set pieces, whacky dialogues and music that will keep the viewers interested. Then there is David Warner mowa’s cameo! Well, we hope Venky has hit a six with the former SRH skipper. We’d be rooting for Davey!
A GV Prakash musical, Robinhood, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, blazes into cinemas on March 28.
