Announced a long time ago, Vijay Deverakonda-headlined Rowdy Janardhan, a directorial venture of Ravi Kiran Kola, has found its leading lady. According to sources, the makers have roped in national award winner Keerthy Suresh to be the film’s female face.
A source close to the development confirms to us, “While Kannada beauty Rukmini Vasanth was initially considered for the part; the deal with her couldn’t fall through due to various factors. The makers recently approached Keerthy and she hopped on board immediately after the narration. Besides the fact that she’s a terrific performer, another reason that led makers to knock her doors was the fresh pairing.”
The source adds, “It’s a strong and intense part and she needs to speak in Godavari dialect. Keerthy is gung-ho about landing such a role and she will kick off the shoot proceedings with Vijay. The film is likely to go on floors this May.”
Rowdy Janardhan is a period rural action drama set in the backdrop of local politics in Andhra Pradesh. “Don’t mistake it for a rooted film which will be low on high moments. It’s an oora mass mainstream film with new-age sensibilities and approach,” the source goes on further.
A significant chunk of the film, a Sri Venkateswara Creations production, will be shot in Hyderabad. Majority of the supporting cast include fresh faces.
Sharing the poster of this film on his 35th birthday last May, Vijay wrote on X, “The blood on my hands is not of their death, but of my own rebirth.”

ఈ ప్రాజెక్ట్‌కు సంబంధించిన ఓ వర్గం తెలిపిన సమాచారం ప్రకారం, “ముందుగా కన్నడ అందగత్తె రుక్మిణి వసంత్‌ను హీరోయిన్‌గా అనుకున్నారు. అయితే కొన్ని కారణాల వల్ల ఆమెతో ఒప్పందం కుదర్లేదు. దీంతో మేకర్స్ కీర్తిని సంప్రదించగా, కథ వినగానే ఆమె వెంటనే ఓకే చెప్పారు. ఆమె అద్భుతమైన నటి కావడం, అలాగే కొత్త జంట కావడంతో ఈ నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నారు.”

‘రౌడీ జనార్ధన్’ ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ లోకల్ పొలిటిక్స్ నేపథ్యంలో సాగే పీరియడ్ రూరల్ యాక్షన్ డ్రామా. “ఇది గ్రామీణ నేపథ్యంలో సాగే ఓ రూటెడ్ సినిమా అనుకుని తక్కువ అంచనా వేయొద్దు. ఇది పూర్తిగా మాస్ యాక్షన్ ఎంటర్‌టైనర్, అయితే కొత్తతరహా ట్రీట్మెంట్ ఉంటుంది” అని మరో వ్యక్తి వివరించారు.
శ్రీ వెంకటేశ్వర క్రియేషన్స్ నిర్మిస్తున్న ఈ చిత్రాన్ని ప్రధానంగా హైదరాబాద్‌లో చిత్రీకరించనున్నారు. అలాగే ఇందులో ఎక్కువ మంది కొత్త నటీనటులు సహాయ పాత్రల్లో కనిపించనున్నారు.
గత ఏడాది మే 9న తన 35వ పుట్టినరోజు సందర్భంగా ఈ సినిమా పోస్టర్ షేర్ చేసిన విజయ్, “నా చేతుల మీద ఉన్న రక్తం వారి మరణానిది కాదు... నా పునర్జన్మదీ!” అని ట్వీట్ చేశాడు.
