Writer-director Shouryuv, who made a splash with his debut film, Hi Nanna, last year, is hopping genres with his next venture. “The screenplay that I’m working on right now will work wonders. It has been completed. It’s an action-drama. The drama and the emotions in it will be 1,000 times better than Hi Nanna,” the director tells idlebrain in an exclusive conversation.

Shouryuv will be making the untitled film for Vyra Entertainments, which produced Hi Nanna as well. “For Hi Nanna, producer Vijender Reddy garu was a backbone. Rather than reinventing the wheel, I wanted to go with someone who I trust and is equally passionate about filmmaking,” the director concedes.

While he has already started pitching the screenplay to actors, Shouryuv has allotted a significant time to the film’s pre-production. “I’m not going to the floors anytime soon. The pre-production alone will take 15 months and we are two-and-a-half months into it. I’m not in a rush with the dates of the actors etc. Everything is going according to my plan. The film is set in Hyderabad but it will travel places,” he points out, adding, “I only believe in my content. I’m a little contradictory to all the industry norms. People have asked me why I don’t proceed with a certain hero, but then I should have my story ready, right? I should be prepared with my pre-production as well. The whole agenda is not to make money but to make great films.”
