Financier and producer Singanamala Ramesh Babu on Wednesday stirred a hornet’s nest by claiming that neither Pawan Kalyan nor Mahesh Babu came to his rescue after he lost Rs 100 crore on his productions like Komaram Puli and Khaleja.
“Films of SS Rajamouli and Shankar take three-four years to be completed; the recent Pushpa 2 took three years to be wrapped up. When I was making films, production never lasted for three years. Films took six months, 9 months or a year to be completed. But call it my bad fate both Khaleja and Komaram Puli took three years to be completed. Imagine the maintenance it would’ve entailed? Only a producer knows. You have to run the office, pay salaries and interests as well. The two films put together I’ve lost Rs 100 crore. Neither of the heroes supported me; worst still, they didn’t even express remorse,” Ramesh said in Hyderabad.
Spelling out the reasons for the delay of his productions, he said while making Komaram Puli, Pawan Kalyan was engaged with activities related to the Praja Rajyam party. “It was one of the reasons. For Khaleja as well, there were so many reasons,” he added.
Bandla Ganesh, who produced films like Theenmaar and Gabbar Singh with Pawan Kalyan, had a sharp reaction to Ramesh. Squarely putting the blame on Ramesh, he said on X, “It is your fault that you didn’t plan your film right. I’m a direct witness to the fact that Pawan Kalyan didn’t sign any film for three years and wasting hundreds of his call sheets. It’s not correct to blow out this issue.”
