Despite multiple delays in the release of Vishwambhara, director Mallidi Vassishta has kickstarted the film’s promotions with full force. As part of this, he gave an exclusive interview to Jeevi of Idlebrain, where he revealed several intriguing insights about the film.

Vassishta said that the reason for revealing the core concept of Vishwambhara ahead of release is the strong confidence that the movie will offer an even richer experience beyond that idea. He explained that Vishwambhara introduces an entirely new universe, with unexplored worlds that are sure to mesmerize audiences.

When asked about the origin of the story, he said, “Vishwambharudu refers to Lord Shiva—the one who creates and dissolves the universe. The movie is about how the realm of Vishwambhara, created by Shiva, comes to protect the universe.”

Vassishta stated that beyond the 14 known worlds in our mythology, Vishwambhara explores a brand-new world that exists above them all—and that’s where the story begins. He revealed that all his films draw inspiration from the Chandamama stories he read as a child. He even pointed out how the climax of Avatar resembles sequences from the Jwalamukhi series in Chandamama, complete with similar visuals.

He asserted that many grand Hollywood films are actually inspired by Indian mythology and folklore, even though people often fail to recognize it. “We’re not copying Hollywood—they’re copying us,” he said.

Vassishta emphasized that every sequence in Vishwambhara was pre-visualized. While Ram Charan is a close friend, he still finds it surreal to have narrated a story to Megastar Chiranjeevi. He added that Chiranjeevi is one of the most comforting actors a director could ask for. “He told me to forget everything else and narrate the story as if I’m telling it to a common viewer.” It took him five minutes to shake off the awe of speaking to Chiranjeevi, and he eventually narrated a 40-minute story that the Megastar liked.

He also clarified that Vishwambhara and the Chiranjeevi-Anil Ravipudi project Mega 157 are entirely different in style and tone, so comparisons are unfair. Dismissing rumors, he stated that there are not five or six heroines in Vishwambhara—Trisha plays the main lead, while Ashika Ranganath appears in another important role.

He confirmed that Vishwambhara has no connection to Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari and is based on a completely original concept. Delays, he said, are common when striving for high-quality output—especially with graphics. That’s why films under UV Creations tend to take time. Only Mirchi was released quickly due to minimal VFX. In contrast, Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Vishwambhara all faced delays because of extensive visual effects.

Vassishta stated that he won’t work on any other film until Vishwambhara is released. He’s still entirely focused on the world of Vishwambhara. He also revealed that Chiranjeevi will have graceful dance moments in a special song in the film. Since MM Keeravani was occupied with Hari Hara Veera Mallu, the special song was composed by Bheems.

When asked about remuneration, Vassishta simply said, “Just because Vishwambhara is delayed, I’m not the kind of commercial-minded person who demands a pay hike.”

'విశ్వంభర' సినిమా పలు కారణాల వలన రిలీజ్ ఆలస్యం అవుతున్నా ప్రమోషన్లను వేగంగానే మొదలుపెట్టేశారు ఆ చిత్ర దర్శకుడు వశిష్ఠ మల్లిడి. అందులో భాగంగా 'ఐడిల్ బ్రెయిన్' జీవికి ఇంటర్వ్యూ ఇచ్చారు. అందులో సినిమాకు సంబంధించిన పలు ఆసక్తికర విషయాలను పంచుకున్నారు వశిష్ఠ మల్లిడి. రిలీజ్ కు ముందే ఆ సినిమాకు సంబంధించిన ఐడియా బయటకు చెప్పేయడానికి కారణం, దానికి మించిన సరికొత్త అనుభూతిని ప్రేక్షకులకు ఇవ్వగలనన్న నమ్మకమే అన్నారు. 'విశ్వంభర' అనే కొత్త ప్రపంచాన్ని ఈ సినిమాలో చూపించబోతున్నామని, ఆ ప్రపంచంలో ఉండబోయే లోకాలు ప్రేక్షకులను మంత్రముగ్ధులను చేస్తాయన్నారు. ఈ కథాంశం గురించి మూలం ఏంటన్న జీవి ప్రశ్నకు సమాధానంగా .. "విశ్వంభరుడు అంటే శివుడు, సకల సృష్టి లయకారుడైన శివుడు సృష్టించిన 'విశ్వంభర' లోకం ఎలా విశ్వాన్ని కాపాడుతుందో" అన్నదే ఈ సినిమాలో చూపిస్తామన్నారు.

ఇంతవరకూ మనకు తెలిసిన 14 లోకాలు కాకుండా, ఆ పద్నాలుగు లోకాలకు పైనుండే ఇంకో సరికొత్త లోకమే 'విశ్వంభర' అని, అక్కడే ఈ సినిమా కథ ప్రారంభమవుతుందన్నారు. తన సినిమాలన్నిటికీ తను చిన్నప్పుడు చదివిన చందమామ కథలే ఆధారమన్నారు. 'అవతార్' సినిమా క్లైమాక్స్ లో వచ్చే సీక్వెన్స్ కూడా చందమామ కథల్లో 'జ్వాలాముఖి' సిరీస్ లో ఉన్నట్టే షాట్స్ తో సహా అచ్చుగుద్దినట్టే పోలి ఉంటాయన్నారు. హాలీవుడ్ లో వస్తున్న చాలా పెద్ద పెద్ద సినిమాలకు సైతం మన కథలు, మన పురాణాలు, మన పౌరాణికాలే మూలాలన్న విషయాన్ని మనం గ్రహించడం లేదన్నారు. మనం హాలీవుడ్ సినిమాలను కాపీ కొట్టడం కాదని, మనవాటినే వాళ్ళు కాపీ కొడుతున్నారన్నారు. 'విశ్వంభర' లో ప్రతీ సీక్వెన్స్ కూడా ప్రీ విజువలైజేషన్ చేశామన్నారు. రామ్ చరణ్ తనకు స్నేహితుడని, చిరంజీవి గారిని వాళ్ళింట్లో కలిసినా, ఒక దర్శకుడిగా ఆయన్ను కలవడం అన్నది ఇప్పటికీ తనకు ఒక షాక్ మాదిరే అని అన్నారు.

చిరంజీవి గారు దర్శకుడికి చాలా కంఫర్ట్ ఇచ్చే వ్యక్తి అని, మిగతావన్నీ మర్చిపోయి ఒక కామన్ ప్రేక్షకుడికి కథ చెప్తున్నాననుకొని తనను కథ చెప్పమన్నారన్నారు. సాక్షాత్తూ చిరంజీవి గారే అలా అనడంతో యధా స్థితికి రావడానికి తనకు అయిదు నిమిషాల సమయం పట్టిందన్నారు. అలా ఓ నలభై నిమిషాల కథ చెప్పడంతో ఆ కథ చిరంజీవి గారికి నచ్చిందన్నారు. అనిల్ రావిపూడి, చిరంజీవి కాంబినేషన్లో వస్తున్న 'మెగా 157' ప్రమోషన్ల సమయంలో 'విశ్వంభర' ప్రస్తావన వస్తుందని చెప్పి, తన 'విశ్వంభర' ను తొందర తొందరగా చేయలేనన్నారు. ఆ సినిమాదో శైలి, విశ్వంభరదో శైలి అని, రెండిటినీ ఒకేలా సరి పోల్చడం సబబు కాదన్నారు. బయట వార్తల్లో వచ్చినట్టు ఈ సినిమాలో అయిదారుగురు హీరోయిన్లు లేరని, 'త్రిష' మెయిన్ లీడ్ లో కనిపించబోతున్నారని, మరో లీడ్ పాత్రలో ఆషికా రంగనాథ్ కనిపిస్తారన్నారు.

'జగదేక వీరుడు అతిలోక సుందరి' సినిమాకూ ఈ సినిమాకు సంబంధం లేదన్నారు. పూర్తి భిన్నమైన కథతో ఈ సినిమా ఉంటుందన్నారు. కొన్నిసార్లు మంచి క్వాలిటీ రాబట్టుకోవాలనే విషయాల్లో సినిమాలు రావడం ఆలస్యం అవ్వడం సాధారణమే అన్నారు. ఆ కారణాల వల్లనే UV క్రియేషన్స్ లో వచ్చే సినిమాలకు అధిక సమయం పడుతూ వస్తుందన్నారు. ఒక్క 'మిర్చి' సినిమా విషయంలోనే గ్రాఫిక్స్ లేకపోవడంతో అనుకున్న సమయానికే ఆ సినిమా వేగంగా ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు వచ్చేసిందన్నారు. ప్రభాస్ 'సాహో' అయినా, 'రాధే శ్యామ్' అయినా ఈ 'విశ్వంభర' అయినా ఆలస్యం అవ్వడానికి కారణం కేవలం గ్రాఫిక్స్ పనులు మాత్రమే అన్నారు. 'విశ్వంభర' రిలీజ్ అయినంత వరకూ ఇంకో సినిమా వైపు వెళ్ళే ఆలోచన తనకు లేదన్నారు. ఇంకా 'విశ్వంభర' సందుల్లోనే తిరుగుతున్నానన్నారు. ఈ సినిమాలో వచ్చే స్పెషల్ సాంగ్ లో చిరంజీవి గ్రేస్ మూమెంట్స్ ఉంటాయన్నారు. కీరవాణి 'హరిహర వీరమల్లు' సినిమా పనుల్లో ఉండటం కారణంగానే ఆ స్పెషల్ సాంగ్ 'భీమ్స్' తో చేయించాల్సి వచ్చిందన్నారు. రెమ్యూనరేషన్ ప్రస్తావన రాగా 'విశ్వంభర' సినిమాకు ఆలస్యం అయింది కదా అని రెమ్యునరేషన్ పెంచమనే అడిగేంత కమర్షియల్ మనిషిని తను కాదన్నారు.
