Story
Kalyana Ramudu (Venu) is a wedding planner, whose functions
include erecting kalyana mandapam, decorating the marriage
house, arranging musicians and cooking. During one such
wedding function, the marriage is called off since the
bridegroom elopes with a girl whom he is love with.
Incidentally the bride is a dumb girl. Hence none of
the relatives of that girl come forward to marry her.
Kalyana Ramudu jumps into the scene and does the crisis
management by asking his doctor brother (Raja Ravindra)
to tie knot. Kalyana Ramudu falls in love with bride's
sister Kalyani (Nikita). She also loves him but pretends
herself to be in love with Rajesh, a pop singer who
is also her uncle's son. Later on Rajesh reveals to
Kalyana Ramudu that Kalyani is in love with Kalyana
Ramudu.
When
everything is going alright, the sister of Kalyani dies.
Later an astrologer says to Kalyani's father that there
is a curse of God on the vamsam of Kalyana Ramudu
and all the women in their dynasty dies at an young
age. After listening to this, Kalyani's father refuses
to marry off his daughter to Kalyana Ramudu. Rest of
the story is all about how all ends well!
Artists
Performence
Venu:
The characterization of Kalyana Ramudu suits the
body language of Venu. He did it in his own style.
Nikita:
She looked completely homely and beautiful in this film.
She wore all traditional Indian dresses which added
to her looks. She completely justified her role with
a sensible portrayal.
Prabhu
Deva: Prabhu Deva did a positive character in this
film. He has a couple of songs for himself and entertained
the crowds with his cool steps.
Others:
Nazar did a pretty good character of heroines father.
Suman played a role of character article and the brother
of hero. Character artist Sana graduated from vadina
characters to mother character in this film. MS Narayana's
comedy as the drunkard pahilwan is a highlight
of the film. After a long gap, Sunil got a full length
comedy role that entertained everybody. Allu Rama Lingaiah
did the role of hero's grand father. Devi
Charan did a one minute comedy role in this film.
Technical
Departments:
Story: Story by Jenny is a simple one with lots
of twists involved towards the climax.
Screenplay - direction: Screenplay and taking
of the director in the first half is very entertaining.
However, he could not justify too many twists in the
second half with a convincing reason. There is no justification
for the scene in which nobody tries to prevent fire
when Kalyani's sister accidentally sets herself afire.
This particular scene comes as the main twist of the
story and its not narrated in a convincing way. However,
it's a neat work by G Ram Prasad with lots of situational
comedy thrown in to it.
Music:
Mani Sharma has provided music with his typical rich
orchestraization. 4 of the five songs in this film are
marriage songs. The theme chosen for 'Premante'
song is pretty innovative. The background score is also
good.
Dialogues:
Marudhuri Raja has done pretty good work for this film.
His pun-oriented dialogues are entertaining. There are
some good and thought-provoking dialogues on love as
well. Here are a couple of dialogues
1.
Preminche Hakku Andariki Vuntundi - Kaani Premanu Ponde
Adrustam Kondarike Vuntundi
2. Nammakam Leni Prema, Prema Leni Pelli Ekkuvakalam
Nilabadavu.
Analysis:
First half of the film is very entertaining with lots
of situational comedy thrown into it. The second half
has become little slow with lots of twists inserted
towards climax. The entire film is shown as a flashback
with elder Venu narrating it to a few young lads. A
good thing about this film is that there are no negative
character and no stunts. Over all it's a minimum guarantee
film that has fair chances to become a box office success.
You can watch this film for the entertainment in first
half.
