Why did you choose Warangal backdrop for 'Varsham'?
Warangal backdrop is chosen to give a freshness and never-seen-before feel on the screen. If you see the recent films, the backdrop is limited to particular locales like seema (faction films), godari districts (village stories). But Warangal is an untouched locations so far and we canned few scenes in the entrance of Warangal city, veyi stambala gudi, fort hall etc. The film boasts off nice visuals taken from Warangal city.

Whats Prabhas role in Varsham?

He is playing the role of Venkat. He is an unemployed youth. He represents the aspirations of present youth. There is a little bit of story support justifying why hero is jobless. Its not a regular kind of love story where hero and heroines love each other, parents oppose and they elope. There is something else in the film. There is an extension to regular formula love stories. This film would definitely prove the guesses of regular movie goes wrong by taking unexpected twists and turns. it's a sensitive love story with action orientation. This film is made in big canvas with huge budget. The songs in this film were picturized in a very tender way.

Prabhas has done a couple of mass films before and they have shown him as an action hero. This film unveils the romantic side of Prabhas along with justifying his mass image with terrific action sequences. Varsham would be a milestone in the career of Prabhas.

There are two types of villains. One is the kind who is bad to the entire society and village. Other one is a good guy who behaves badly with the hero alone. What kinds of villain shall we see in 'Varsham'?
Hmm! You are trying to get the entire storyline from me. I would prefer say 'no comments' to this question. However, I do hint you that there is 'Good, bad and ugly' in this film. Prabhas represents good, Gopichand represents bad and Prakash Raj epitomizes the ugly.

When you have Telangana backgroud, it strikes to us the problem with naxalites. Do you have any elements related to ultras?
No. There is no reference to the problem of PWG in this film. it's a pure love story with action backdrop.

Tell us about the Trisha character in this film
Trisha is playing the character of Sailaja in this film. She is middle class girl. Even the hero belongs to middle class family. Her character is very matured. She is naughty as well. She should be the main plus point of the film. Youth would watch this film repeatedly for this girl alone.

Why did you chose a flop director like Sobhan?
I saw lots of creative zeal in him. Everybody gets hits and flops. Its just that he got flop before getting hit films. I am sure he would prove himself with 'Varsham'.

I personally liked the beat Devi Sri Prasad has experimented with the sound of water in 'Innallaku Gurthochana vaana' song?
Devi Sri Prasad was introduced by me for Devi film. He proved his mettle in many films later before working for 'Varsham'. I am sure Varsham would help him and myself with its stupendous music.

Tell us about the team work you have when making films on Sumanth Arts banner?
It's a complete team work. I want my hero, heroine and technicians take my help and grow and I take their help to grow bigger. It's the 'help each other' attitude that makes the difference.

How many prints do this movie is releasing with?
Actually, I wanted to release 'varsham' with 150 prints. But because of pre-occupation of theaters because of big films release for Sankranthi season, I restricted the print number to 120. Varsham would release with 120 prints and 30 more prints would be added after a week or two.

How many prints did you release Okkadu with?
Around 120 prints.

Mahesh Babu is pretty much accomplished actor compared to Prabas and you are releasing varsham at par with Okkadu. What is the reason?
There is no harm in having so many prints for a Pongal release. The audio is doing extremely well. People are expecting a lot from Varsham. Why not satiate the urge of people who want to watch the Varsham first? I am expecting Varsham to do well in mass centers along with A centers.

Do you feel nervous because you are releasing Varsham with biggies like Anji and Lakshminarasimha?
No. I am not. It's natural for any Sankranthi season to witness more than 3 film releases. And its not a taboo to release our films along with the films of big heroes. More over, I fixed the release date as 14th January when I had muhurat of 'Varsham'. where as other films got postponed and fell on the release date of Varsham. If you take Tamil film industry, around four films are releasing for Sankranthi. What do you say about it? Every filmmaker would put their best efforts while making a film. It's the audience who decides which is the better one!

What is your next film?
It will star Mahesh Babu.

I heard it's a socio-fantasy film?
Hmm! I can't comment anything about it now. I narrated a storyline to Mahesh and he liked it. We would meet again in the 1st week of February and I would tell you more about that project.
