Bommarillu
As a Telugu movie goer living abroad, one of my first stops on internet for movie reviews is idlebrain.com. We were anxiously waiting for Bommarillu to come to Austin after Jeevi rating of 4.5, and it finally did last weekend. We went to watch the movie with family and friends (Literally). The expectations were evident from the long lines, very similar to the ones in Madras consulate. Once we got into the theater, we spent close to 3 hours watching Sidhu and Hasini's life. Very few directors have the magical brilliance to capture the every day incidents be it Special coffee in Minerva, or Pani puri on the road side. It is simple yet thought provoking to all the parents. It is so very easy to get carried away from simply giving and protecting our kids to dictating their every move. The scene between Prakash raj and Siddharth isexcellent. Hasini (Genelia) is tolerable with the cute voice. The comment from my six year old that this is the first Indian movie with no blood or fire says it all I think. One of the very few movies that can be watched with family.
All in all, not to be missed. Kudos to the director - Bhaskar and producer - Dil Raju. Siddharth does well as an actor and singer.
