Story

Kittu (Sundeep Kishan) is a cab driver who saves his money with the cab owner (Tanikella Bharani). When the owner refuses to return his money back, Kittu kidnaps owner’s daughter Nandu (Regina Cassandra). Nandu who is fed up with her father’s unilateral decision about her marriage is happy with the kidnapping. They fall in love with each other in the process. When they were about to accept the ransom money, she gets kidnapped by another kidnapper. The rest of the story is all about who kidnapped her and the kidnapper’s connection with Kittu!

Artists Performance

Actors: Sundeep Kishan is very good at doing casual scenes. The script and characterization he has chosen is right for him. His dances in introduction song are good. It’s a tailormade character Regina Cassandra and she has performed really well. Jagapathi Babu’s character comes in second half. The characterization is funny. It may not be impressive first, but it grows on you as the story progresses. Jagapathi Babu entertains as Jaggu Bhai. Kalyani seems to be the obvious choice to play Jagapati babu’s wife after Jagapathi Babu started acting as character actor/villain. Brahmaji, Thagubothu Ramesh and Ravi Babu offer entertainment.

Technical departments

Story - screenplay - direction: The story of the film is loosely based on a Bollywood flick ‘Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’ (2012) which inturn is inspired by a Hollywood film ‘A Life Less Ordinary’ (1997). The couple-on-run who meander to Kerala reminds us of episodes from Chennai Express film. Debutant director Mahesh Babu P handled family emotions and episodes in the second half well. But he didn’t bring life into couple-on-run episodes. Screenplay should have been better in the first half.

Other departments: Dialogues by Mahesh are interesting in parts. Introduction song and beach song are scored well. Background music is nice. Cinematography by Sai Sriram is good. Art direction by Ramanjaneyulu is aesthetic. I liked his work for beach song. Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh is fine. Production values by Vamsi Krishna Srinivas are good.


Analysis

First half of the film is dry. Second half is alright. Plus points of the film are performances and second. An engaging first half would have set the right mood. The liplock in the climax which guaranteed an A certificate is pretty good. But the irony is that the couple do liplock in front of kids on screen (and kids are not allowed to watch it in theaters). We have to wait and see how movie lovers like it!
