Political air dominates Srihari's birthday today
Screen villain-turned mass action hero Srihari today celebrated his birthday amidst a huge gathering of fans from all over the state and a good number of political leaders in the city. Coinciding his birthday, his latest film Poru (directed by Amma Rajasekhar) was launched at Savera Function Hall, Yousufguda Basti, Hyderabad. A large gathering of political leaders, from the surrounding villages in Medchal, Vikarabad constituencies and twin cities thronged the venue and greeted the actor. The fans organized a huge cake cutting and expressed their joy by putting on gajamala on him. Children from the schools in Shamirpet mandal sang the birthday song for Srihari. The heavy fanfare resulted in traffic jam at the basti. His fans brought Srihari to the venue after taking out an impressive rally.

Srihari adopts 3 backward villages
Addressing the fans, and people of Lakshmapur, Anantaram and Narayanapur villages of Shamirpet mandal, Srihari said: "I wanted to do some public good on my birthday today. Me and my wife Shanti were going to some village. When I expressed my wish to do something to the poor people, Shanti told me: Bava, we should do it big, so that our works and our names will have permanency in people's heart. In consultation with some senior leaders, I have come forward to adopt the three villages and provide safe drinking water to the people by installing water purification plants there. This will also benefit the neighboring girijan thandas. This work will be carried out on Akshara Foundation established in the name of my daughter. I shall also take up distribution of books, plates and tumblers to the poor students. Other than this, I shall make myself available to the people's requirements and my doors are always welcome to them. I also appeal to the goodhearted people to render their liberal help to the poor and needy." On hearing his speech, the fans profusely shouted – Sriharigari Nayakatvam Vardhillali.
