An
open letter to Chiranjeevi
I
would be an understatement to call myself your fan. The degree of
my adorement to you is only followed by that to GOD and My family.
I feel bad to make a mention of this, but just to make things clear
to the world I make a mention that I do not belong to your community
(Caste). I started to adore you since I hardly knew anything about
movies and I still remember the days when I was in school and one
of my friend was explaining to all of us your daring stunt under
the train in the film 'Goonda' and later on another friend getting
so excited on your dance movements from 'Pasivadi Pranam'. I had
a chance to watch that movie only after some 80 days and that too
as a bonus for holidays. At that time, all the exposure we had for
movies was through theatres and outdoor shootings, as there were
no TV promotions then. Although I did not watch all your movies
I always had this good feeling about you and I can be put in the
brackets of "hero worshipper". I had a very nice poster
of yours, which was sold once by the "Movie" magazine
in my room and I was so blown away by that.
Days
passed on, you had low times once in a while and then there was
always a bang with which you came back. "JVAS" and "GharanaMogudu"
to name a couple. Those days I was at my extremes.. like I watched
each movie of yours on the first day morning show (if there was
no preview) and the 100th day last show. I even remember that day,
that would be the 100th day of Gang Leader and the theatre management
were reluctant to play the songs the second time. There was lots
of damage done to the theatre by the audience (fans, of course)
and I broke a chair as my share to show my aggression.
Today
when I think of all those events sometime I feel guilty but most
of the times they were sweet memories. On my personal front I completed
my Masters in Business Administration and I stood the 3rd top scorer
in my batch. Slowly I moved on and settled in as a Software Engineer
in the United States (I am still working, I thank "GOD"
for that). I don't get to watch the movies anymore and the pirated
versions really are not my cup of tea. I just read the reviews and
articles by various web sites. I happened to go home last year for
marriage and I watched "Daddy". After a long break I got
to see the "Mega Star" on the big screen of Jagadamba
70 mm, Vizag. My joy knew no bounds.
Today,
most of my family members like you and my brother is an ardent fan
of yours too. Well, this may not sound right but we also have a
soft corner of Pawan Kalyan. Now come on, he is good at what he
does and he knows exactly what he is doing. One should appreciate
his guts.
Sir!
I want to see you be the Mega Star of the Telugu film industry for
a long long time to come and I wish you all the best and I pray
"GOD" to give you good health and guide you in the right
direction. Once again this might be an understatement but you shall
always have the support of your devoted fans.
PS:
I would like to thank idlebrain.com for giving me this opportunity
to open up in public and like wise to all the other visitors I just
want to make a mention that "Movies are for our entertainment
and the Heroes are the Soul of it. It's not necessary that we all
should adore the same person but it's definitely not necessary to
hate someone just because we love someone else. There is always
enough room for more that one hero. No offense, but if your hero
is looking for the "MegaStar" tag, I am sorry we have
the right person in the slot there".
Thanks
A Fan
