Actor Satyadev is a breath of fresh air. Hailing from humble beginnings, this man has made a name for himself through sheer hardwork and undeniable acting prowess. His many on-screen faces have had him compared to some of the greats in acting, in fact even by some of the greats in acting. Today he is sought after by leading OTTs and feature film makers alike. No wonder then that even with the lockdown in full effect, his career is showing no signs of slowing down. Satyadev had his second webseries Locked premier on AHA! a couple of weeks ago. He is now looking forward to the release of his beautifully crafted masterpiece Uma Maheshwara Ugra Rupasya. So, should we check out what else has been keeping this handsome hunk busy off late?
Your webseries Locked released during the lockdown. How very apt!
*Smiles* Yes, it released just days into the lockdown. It got a terrific response. We reached 10 million minutes in 21 days which is crazy. The platform is waiting for the 20 million mark to put out some ads. During the first few days I got so many messages about it because people hadn't seen that side of me. There were over a 100 memes about locked that I've seen myself. There were even people selling mobile covers for 275 with my photo alongside Money Heist. People actually bought these and sent me photos.
Have you done anything interesting during the past few weeks?
Yes, I've actually fixed on the story lines of three scripts. I'm working on developing one of them right now. I've read six books and watched a lot of films I was meaning to but didn't have the time to earlier.
Have you had any realisations during lockdown?
My patience has certainly increased. I think I've also had some realisations but I will only know whether it's changed my behavior when I mingle with people . Once things go back to normal and I observe myself then I'll truly understand.
Is there anything you want to do as soon as lockdown is over?
I really miss my gym and miss shoots; I miss acting in front of camera. I'm eagerly waiting to act again. I've practiced some new things which I'm waiting to put into action.
I'm also waiting for Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya. It would be great for me once it's out.
Did you find any silver lining to this whole situation?
The Earth is healing which is the biggest silver lining. I can't imagine any other time when the Earth could've revived itself. Over the last few years I've been worried about the next generation because ours is already facing so many issues. Luckily this period has extended the life of Earth. We the fortunate ones with a house, food, basic necessities, it is a good time for us. But when I think about those who don't have these things, it just leaves me blank. There's so much pain out there.
