K Aparna is producing ‘Sundara Kanda’ with Charmme as heroine in the direction of Bapu. Shooting of this film is complete. Music will release on 26 Jan and movie is expected on 8 February 2008. Idlebrain.com caught up with K Aparna to know more details about Sundara Kanda. Here are the excerpts -

What is reason for making a film with Bapu?
I decided to produce a film with Bapu after watching Radha Gopalam film. Dharma Karta - an industrialist from Dubai - supported us in a big way to make this film. He owns a company called Petrofab International. It was also his ambition to work with Bapu. This project would not have happened without Dharma Karta.

Bapu is always known for teluguness and traditional values, which globalization and improved lifestyle made most of us forget. Sundara Kanda will remind us of our sweet telugu and great traditions.

Why did you title this film as Sundara Kanda?
The Sundara Kanda chapter in Ramayanam is all about the fun and frolic of Hanuman. Likewise, this Sundara Kanda is all about the fun and frolic done by the lead character Pinky played by Charmme. This title was suggested by Bapu and we could not have asked for a more appropriate title.

Tell us about Charmme character?
Bapu liked Charmme’s performance in Anukokunda Oka Roju. He has Charmme in his mind while scripting this film. She is the latest Bapu Bomma. She acted very maturely as the ‘allari pilla’ (naughty girl). Bapu extracted maximum performance from her and there are many dimensions to her characterization. Sunita is dubbing her voice.

Balu dubbed a character in this film. Balu is so much moved by the film that he could not sing a song for Pandu Rangadu that day.

Tell us about Allari Naresh character?
He is the only journalist in that town and he contributes to all the magazines and newspapers from that place. He helps Charmme in achieving her goal.

About music?
Vidya Sagar’s music is going to be a highlight. There are five melodious songs in the album. Supreme music bought audio rights. The music will be launched on 26th of January.

How many days did it take to make the film and where did you shoot it?
Sundara Kanda was shot in 66 days and we exposed around 72000 feet of negative. We shot this film in Ramoji Film City, Araku, Bobbili Kota, Rock Castle, Vijaya Nagaram, Patan Cheru Raju Gari Thota, Koti Women’s college atc.

What are going to be highlights of the film?
Apart from Bapu and Charmme, we have a great music. PRK Raju and Seenu Master who won Nandi awards for cinematography and choreography respectively for Radha Gopalam film worked for this film as well.

When are you releasing the film?
Sundarakanda’s tentative release date is 8 February.

What’s your next project?
I will be producing a film by introducing Nandini (associate of Krishna Vamsi) as director very soon.
