Story
There is a foundation trust in Ananthapur that has 100’s of acres of land belonging to it. Sarkar (Kabir Duhan Singh) wants to grab it by producing fake documents. Narayana (sai Kumar) takes care of the foundation and he must get the original documents. Balu (Sai Dharam Tej) is a cab driver and he finds an Anglo-Indian orphan kid on the streets. Rest of the story is all about how Balu helps Narayana with original documents.
Artists Performance
Actors: One good thing about Sai Dharam Tej in this film is that he imitates neither Chiranjeevi nor Pawan Kalyan (except for Andam Hindolam). Sai Dharam Tej plays his character with ease and conviction. Rashi Khanna plays the role of a cop. Though her character behaves seriously, lot of comedy is generated due to characterization. She is pretty good. The kid is adorable and is very confident without any awkwardness towards camera. Vennela Kishore is hilarious as sidekick of Rashi. Kabir Duhan Singh looks threatening. Ravi Kissan whose role starts on serious note ends up being a comedian. Sai Kumar and Rajendra Prasad are apt. Pruthvi and Prabhas Seenu are entertaining as car thieves with ‘zing zing’ catchword. Srinivas Reddy and Posani are okay as musician pair in second half. Sivannarayana (Amrutham fame) is pretty good when he asks for coffee!
Technical departments
Story - screenplay - direction: Story of the film is routine. Screenplay is fine in the first half, but is predictable in second half. Anil Ravipudi depends on ease of Sai Dharam Tej and entertainment episodes (Raghubabu, Pruthvi, Posani, Ali, Srinivas Reddy, Prabhas Seenu, Vennela Kishore, Jaya Prakash Reddy). The way he connected Nellore guy character towards end is pretty nice. There is an excessive action orientation in the film starting from pre-interval episode. He should have concentrated more to finesse story.
Other departments: Songs scored by Sai Karthik are okay. Background music is fine. Cinematography by Sai Sriram is alright. Dialogues written by Anil Ravipudi are good in parts. The much talked about Andam Hindolam has neither good choreography nor slick visuals. The graphics work (supreme lettering and logo) idea in the song is also not appealing enough. Some of action sequences are good (especially differently abled fight), but there are too many of them in second half.
Analysis: Anil Ravipudi has the single agenda of having entertainment. But, neglected the other aspects while narrating the film. Plus points of the film are Sai Dharam Tej’s ease and entertainment episodes. On the flipside, routine story, predictable screenplay in second half and excessive action episodes work against the film. On a whole, Supreme has chances to click with crowds due to the entertainment aspect!
