Surya (Ram) is obsessed with his dad Narayana Murthy (Satyaraj). Narayana Murthy is an honest officer in a government department that certifies constructions. Narayana Murthy denies to sign on an important file which belongs to a powerful minister. Surya being a passionate son makes sure that his dad is always taken care of. The crux of the film is about how he handles baddies so that his dad’s honest work is not tampered with. 
Actors: Ram comes up with an energetic work. His performance in ‘middle class’ scene is electrifying. Raashi Khanna does her part well. Satyaraj is good in serious scenes (especially the signature episodes), but fails get comic timing right in fun scenes with the son. Rao Ramesh makes an impact though he appears over-the-top. It’s a different role of Murali Sharma, but a typical villain/comedian characterization for Telugu audiences. Posani Krishna Murali makes his presence felt. Prabhas Seenu is good a sidekick to the villain.
Story - screenplay - direction: Santosh Srinivas has prepared a two pronged story that deals with father-son bond an honest government officer protecting his integrity. You get a dejavu feeling in few aspects (hero admiring villain and trying to help him out reminds us of Jakkanna story, the Government office episodes remind us of the key scene of Janatha Garage). He has succeeded in projecting the scenery of government officer thread effectively, but didn’t get father-son bonding scenes in an universally appealing manner. The romance thread is also cliched (searching for a girl by looking at the back of women is not in good taste). The scene in which Satyaraj retorts to Rao Ramesh in first encounter is very grippingly told. The screenplay should have been better.
Other departments: Songs scored by Ghibran for this film are not good. Background music by Manisharma is just okay. Dialogues written by Abburi Ravi are intense in a couple of scenes, but average otherwise. Cinematography by Sameer Reddy is good. Fights in the film are good though most of them defy gravity. Production values by 14 Reels banner are decent. 
Analysis: The theatrical trailer of the film suggests that it’s about father-son bonding and there is a lot of action orientation. The film too follows suit. Plus points of the film are Ram’s energetic performance and the episodes involving the honesty of government officer. On the flip side, complete mass orientation and loud scenes between Ram and Rao Ramesh might limit the appeal of the film just to masses. On a whole, Hyper is a film made for the masses.
