Puri Jagan spoke to the scribes a day before release of his latest film ‘Neninthe’. Here are the excepts of his chitchat –

Challenge to women activists
There is nothing obscene in the poster publicity of Neninthe film. I never exploited women in my films. It is those so-called women activists who are exploiting women. I challenge these women activists stop women from watching Neninthe film in the first seven days.

Made from own experiences
I started my career as assistant director and it took many years for me to become a director. I had gone through many struggles and I had seen lots of others struggling in Telugu film industry before making their mark. The incidents in this film reflect those struggling periods. Hence it will be identified by anybody who struggled in their career (not necessarily from film industry)

Highlighted fans problems
I have also concentrated on the mindset of fans. I captured their innocence adulation towards their star heroes and how they suffer in the long period. I narrated how fans get spoiled in the process. I tried to show a solution to their problems. My brother Sai Ram Shankar did the role of a hero’s fans president.

Underplayed performance by Ravi Teja
If you look at Idiot or ANOTA (Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammai), Ravi Teja had a hyper role where he says dialogues with a reckless attitude. But the characterization of Ravi Teja is subdued in this film. He does the role of a struggling assistant director who wants to climb up the ladder. Heroine Siya plays the role a side dancer in this film.

In Hindi if Neninthe becomes a hit
I plan to remake this film in Neninthe if it becomes a hit. Ram Gopal Varma has seen the film in parts and he liked them. He suggested this subject to Abhishek Bachchan and he liked it too. The remake will depend on the commercial outcome of Neninthe.

Lashed out on websites – gossips and reviews
Mumaith Khan is doing a role of an item girl in this film. There were many instances where Mumaith Khan used to come to me and cry because certain web sites wrote baseless gossip about her. These gossips are also creating troubles in the personal lives of celebrities. I also lashed out at reviewers and the NRI crowds who read those reviews.

Realistic songs
All the songs in this film are realistic except for one. Hence you find all these songs to situational and linked to the scenes of the movie. Krishna Nagare song depicts the lives of strugglers of Telugu film industry.

A hard-hitting film
Neninthe is a hard hitting film. The dialogues are intense. The entire unit liked the film. It is very close to my heart. At the same time, there are commercial elements that would appeal to all kinds of movie lovers.
