Story
Tillu starts a new company ‘Tillu Events’ becomes very successful with parents taking over arrangements and execution and Tillu taking care of only the DJ part. Just like in DJ Tillu, he gets a call from his new lover (Anupama Parameswaran) to visit her flat in the night. Rest of the story is about what happened that night which endangered his life again.

Artists Performance

Siddu Jonnalagadda’s Tillu character is something iconic. And he used his charm and screen presence again to entertain the crowds. He is exceptionally talented with his body language, dialect and expressions for Tillu character. Anupama Parameswaran has done a meaty character in the role and she is bound to get a lot of appreciation for her work in the film. She looks good throughout the movie. Muralidhar Goud is very talented and natural. His timing can be seen in a scene in the car during the climax where he just stares at Tillu with no expression. Neha Shetty did a cameo appearance. Murali Sharma is fine in a limited, yet vital role. Prince Cecil is good.

Story - screenplay - direction: Tillu Square is a crime comedy like DJ Tillu. The writers (Siddhu, Mallik Ram, Kalyan Shankar & Ravi Anthony) have done a good job in connecting the story of DJ Tillu to the story of Tillu Square. The crime part of it appears organically and doesn't look forced. Interval twist and the background song used for it enhances the effect. The 2nd half is written well with another twist in the climax. Director Mallik Ram does a good job. Director has succeeded in getting the entertainment right. Screenplay is well written by the team by connecting the part 1.

Other departments: Both songs scored by Ram Miriyala are foot-tapping. They also remixed DJ Tillu's title song. Background music by Bheems Ceciroleo is good. Dialogues in the movie are superb. These are contemporary and some dialogues need a big sense of humor to immediately get them. And you can see the hard work in writing dialogues. These dialogues go well with repeated viewings. Cinematography by Sai Prakash Ummadisingu is very good. Editing by Naveen Nooli is fine. Art direction by AS Prakash is decent (liked Tillu’s car interiors and exteriors). Production values by Sithara Entertainments & Fortune Four Cinemas are good.

Analysis: Tillu Square is a properly written crime comedy that connects DJ Tillu movie organically. You don’t need to watch DJ Tillu to understand Tillu Square. But, watching DJ Tillu will enhance the viewing experience by two times as you enjoy comedy and nuances better. Plus points of the film are Siddu Jonnalagadda’s exceptionally entertaining performance and writing. On the whole, Tillu Square is a hilarious entertainer I recommend you to watch in crowded theaters to get maximum enjoyment!
