Uma (Nani) and Pallavi (Nivetha Thomas) fall in love in Vizag. When Uma goes to Delhi for further studies, Pallavi is obliged into an arranged marriage with Arun (Aadhi Pinisetti) and they settle in San Francisco. Uma still has feelings on Pallavi though she moved on from him to Arun. Rest of the story is all about what happens when Pallavi invites Uma to stay with them for 10 days.
Nani: Nani has displayed his all-round abilities as an actor in the character of Uma. There is mischief, negative mindedness and maturity in his character (in the same order as his character transform through those stages). He has provided entertainment when it's needed and his performance in the end scene makes you root for him. Nani has always made sure that he is widening his borders and scope with each film in such a way that it still falls in his comfort zone. He holds complete command on his work despite testing unchartered territories.
Story - screenplay - direction: Story by debutant director Shiva Nirvana is different from the regular stories we see in Telugu films as it depicts a triangular relationship after marriage. Screenplay of the film is cleverly written by creating the conflicts at the right time and linking them up at a later part of the story. The only unconvincing aspect of story (why do any husband let ex-lover of his wife to stay along with them) is explained convincingly towards climax. The character of Nani behaves negatively in the real time, which could be very unconvincing for feel-good films. May be, we need to excuse it because we can't expect a guy who failed in love to behave magnanimously. Director Shiva Nirvana’s direction is good and he extracted emotions well and made sure that there is good amount of entertainment in this mature film. 
Other departments: Songs scored by Gopi Sunder are good on screen. Background music is very nice and he used ‘adiga adiga’ tune effectively in the background music for key scenes. Cinematography by Karthik Gattamneni is cool and impeccable. Dialogues jointly written by Shiva and Kona Vankat are good. One dialogue I liked very much is - “Life gives you many chances. You need to give one chance to life.” Editing by Prawin Pudi is good. Production values by DVV Entertainments banner are decent.
Analysis: Making a film with overseas backdrop is very difficult. In most of the successful Telugu films, foreign location is used for limited screen time. Most of the films shot entirely in foreign fail because it deals with limited characters and need good narration. Ninnu Kori is a rare film in that aspect as it hits the right chords despite shooting mostly in USA. The director Shiva has made sure that characters of Pruthvi and Murali Sharma are used for some relief in second half. On a whole, Ninnu Kori is a well handled mature film that balances the heaviness with ample entertainment. You may watch it!
