Gagan (Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas) is an adorable youngster who dotes on his father (Sarath Kumar) and brother (Nandu). Janaki (Rakul Preet Singh) falls in love with Gagan the moment she looks at his kind act. Trouble is brewing in two other camps as two big shots fight for a prestigious road contract. Rest of the story is all about what happens when Janaki is forced to leave Gagan and how Gagan gets her back with his daredevilry. 
Actors: Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas looks good with a stylish hairstyle and light beard. He chiseled his body in such a way that he looks extremely agile and believable while doing action sequences. His height and physique made fights look powerful. He has it in him to be a huge action hero in Telugu cinema. Rakul Preet has got a nice role in Rarandoy Veduka Chooddam this year. Her character in this film is the best so far as it gives her scope to emote a lot. She did well. Pragya Jaiswal did a character which has no love interest in hero. She is cheerful in the film. Catherine Tresa is hot in an item song that comes towards the climax of the film. Sarath Kumar is very good as father of hero. Jagapathi Babu does a role who goes to any extent for honor. He is excellent. Tarun Arora is menacing as a villain. JP is good. Vani Viswanath makes a surprise entry in this film. Dhanya Balakrishna is good as a chirpy friend of heroine. 
Story - screenplay - direction: It’s basically a love story of a moralistic guy who believes in positivity and giving. Boyapati Srinivas made sure that hero’s emotion towards heroine run under current throughout the film. Though, he is directing a 2-film old hero, he made sure that there is no compromise in elevating heroism and building the tempo up. Two fights (interval fight and Hamsala Deevi episode) are extraordinary in the film because of the emotion they carry. The most remarkable aspect of the film is that there is no forced comedy. Director didn’t bother to dilute the emotion in the film by having comedians and comedy episodes. Sentiment scenes worked well. But. the movie has excessive fights towards climax. Boyapati Sreenu has made sure that he caters everything that is expected of him by masses. 
Other departments: Songs scored by Devi Sri Prasad are alright. Background music is excellent (especially the work he has done for Hamsala Deevi episode). Sangeeth Song is excellent on the screen. Veede Veede song sung by Kailash Kher carries a lot of emotion. All songs are shot lavishly. Cinematography by Rishi Punjabi is of high class. His visuals are eye pleasing and create the right impact. Action sequences by Ram Laxman are designed extraordinarily by blending emotion. Dialogues written by M Rathnam are good. Editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is fine. Art direction by Sahi Suresh is excellent. Production values by Dwaraka Creations banner are grand. 
Analysis: Boyapati Sreenu knows his craft - that is to enthrall masses with his movies. Jaya Janaki Nayaka is about a guy who goes all out to protect the girl he loves. Though it appears as a mass film, there is uniqueness about story plot and how three families (Sarath Kumar, Jagapathi Babu & JP) are connected. Plus points of the film are B Sai Srinivas, mass elements, emotions and action sequences. On the flipside, there are continuous action episodes in second half. On a whole, Jaya Janaki Nayaka has all elements that make a commercial potboiler work at box office!
