Sunil is all excited about his second movie as hero – Maryada Ramanna. More so because it is directed by the hit-machine SS Rajamouli who gave only hits in his career. Idlebrain.com met Sunil at Prasad labs for a brief chat. Here are the excerpts -

Tell us about Maryada Ramanna?
Maryada Ramanna is a new film with an original story. I didn’t act in this movie; I just behaved like a character. I am doing the role of Ramu who visits a joint family in a village as a guest. Rajamouli asked me not to repeat my regular acting/antics. I was physically strained for this movie as I was not familiar with stunt sequences. There is a scene in this film in which I am hanged with my cycle 500 feet above the ground level. . There are good action sequences in the movie and I acted without a dupe. I have scratches on my legs because of fights in the movie.

I am humbled by the amount of hard work put in by the director Rajamouli. Rajamouli is an intense filmmaker and he made sure that all the scenes in this movie are natural. All the scenes in this movie are coincidental. I leant a lot from him.

There are some good movies that become flops and there are bad movies that could become hits. Maryada Ramanna is going to be a good movie and it will become a hit as well. I think Maryada Ramanna film is the right film to get rave reviews and exciting collections. I would never get a chance to act in such a film like Maryada Ramanna in my career again. I consider this as high point in my career.

What is the speciality of Maryada Ramanna?
The movie is gripping. I got tears in my eyes while dubbing for the climax of the movie. Re-recording by Keeravani is going to be the life of the movie. It enhanced emotions. Telugammai song is going to be the turning point of the story. There is also a great CG work involved in the film. But you wouldn’t notice it because it appears natural on the screen. Maryada Ramanna is an original story narrated in an electrifying fashion by Rajamouli.

What are your future projects as main lead?
I am doing a film in the production of NRI Ganesh Indukuri (Tolly 2 Holly films). He is the brother of my classmate and close friend Ramaraju. I am also doing Ram Gopal Varma’s film ‘katha, screenplay, darsakatvam: Appalaraju’.

How do you feel about acting in RGV’s flick?
Ram Gopal Varma auditioned me for a group of friends role for Sumanth's Prema Katha around 12 years back. I was not considered for the role of one of four characters. It is a great feeling to work as hero in a comedy film to be directed by the great director Ram Gopal Varma himself.
