Open letter on Arjun piracy

Dear Pawan:

Pawan Kalyan! This name is enough to stir up inquisitiveness and curiosity among fans and non-fans alike. It is probably because of your being distinct from the others in terms of behaviour and life style. While many people grope for fame off-screen, you seem to be least perturbed about it. I am often reminded of your words "to be identified as unique, you need not act non-chalant; you should really have that uniqueness in you."

Branded as brother of an illustrious brother, you came out of his image in a very short time. Creating own image being brother to Chiru is indeed an achievement in itself. In all your movies you have portrayed characters which a common man can associate himself with- a man without any special or supernatural talent.

Whether it was the ebullient Siddu in Kushi or the vibrant Subash in tammudu or the compassinate Balu in Toliprema or enigmatic Badrinath in Badri, your movies had them all. Fights, action, peppy songs, comedy and all other ingredients that made your movies a must see for everyone. I like the way you have introduced the art of inducing comedy and persuasion in your fight sequences or new trends in song picturizations.

I like your movie Johnny not because it showed you at your best in terms of histrionics but it showcased your "dare to be different" attitude. Unfortunately the movie failed but your fans liked the way you took failure upon yourself instead of pushing it onto others.

As we prepare to brace ourselves to enjoy your latest release Gudumba Sankar, here are few thoughts as a sincere fan:

• You are one of the few actors who can identify the pulse of the audience. So far, you catered to the needs of urban population, while in reality, you can, with your comedy timing and action, reach the mass audience in a big way. I sincerely hope that your forthcoming movies will address this need.
  
  
• Please do not take years to make a movie. If Chiru or Rajnikanth are doing that it is because they have been around for more than 2 decades. Although you are one of the biggest stars around, audience would love to see you more frequently. 2 movies a year is an ideal proportion.
  
  
• In case you are considering directing a movie in the future, please show your movie to an independent unbiased person and take his feedback. Considering your stature as a hero, people may not be comfortable to tell their feelings comfortably.
  
  
• Next time around you would like to direct a movie, please make sure that you choose a vibrant story that has all the entertainment elements. I don't think fans and audience in general can afford to see Pawan in a subdued and cowed role. Remember that you have an envious fan-base that very very few actors have been blessed with - children and students. You simply cannot afford to neglect them when you take a decision to act in a movie.

Wish you a very happy birthday and I sincerely hope that Gudumba Sankar becomes a BLOCKBUSTER.
