Background:
I was born in Hyderabad, brought up in Dallas, Texas, USA. I did my schooling and college in Texas. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology & Business Administration. I'm wanting to pursue MFA in Film making with a concentration in Direction. I won Miss India Texas 2008, Miss Asia Texas 2010. I also won the Best Smile & Best Talent award in both competitions for my Kathak dance performance. I directed my first short film called 'An American Nightmare' around the same time as I was shooting for LBW. It got the best short film award as well as the viewers choice award.

How did you get an opportunity to work for lbw?
It was the middle of the spring semester and i was busy with production and lighting classes when I got a call from a family friend who is a common friend of Praveen. He informed me about this project and immediately Praveen got in touch with me over the phone. The very next day I met with Praveen and Deborah. I was a little apprehensive at first and did not know what to expect. When I met him i realized we were on the same wavelength and shared the same vision of creating sensible and entertaining cinema. He then narrated the character of Radhika and it seemed very interesting to me. I felt that it would be a great learning experience for me to be a part of this project. I was given a copy of the scene and they wanted me to audition after two hours. So, i skipped my lighting class, studied the scene and went for it & the rest is history.

What is the character u r playing in the movie and explain about it
I play Radhika's character. It was a lot of fun being Radhika. She is an IT professional working in Dallas. She is outgoing, independent, confident. She is not afraid to speak her mind. She wants to experience everything in life. At the same time, she is a girl with feelings. It is very interesting to see how she deals with the situations & their consequences in her life.

What kind of movies do you like and how do you want to model yourself in the future?
My favorite genres are comedy, action thrillers & horror. I enjoy any movie that is simple yet creatively made with an out of the box plot. The most important ingredient to have in a good movie is a good story. Then, even if the movie is low on production value it will turn out to be entertaining to the audience. Film making is so exciting. I get fascinated with the entire journey of how a script transforms to screen. All this begins with one creative thought. I aspire to entertain audiences with many such creative thoughts!

Tell us about some interesting/funny incidents happen while shooting?
Every day was an interesting day while shooting. Just to point out a few. We had a tight schedule on April 1st. Everyone had a long day and on my way back I was thinking I have to do something. So I called Praveen and started crying and told him I will not be coming to shooting from tomorrow. I staged a story saying I had a big fight with my parents and so on. It was hillarious to hear Praveen's reaction. He was so determined to find a solution and make me come to the shoot. He was relieved when i told him it was prank. Also, there was a time when Praveen got locked inside the apartment we were shooting in. Everyone packed up and went home. Praveen's phone ran out of battery so he was stuck there without brushing/shower/food until next day afternoon. No one messed with him that day!

What are your future projects?
Film is my career now and i don't mind being associated with any aspect of film making whether its in front of the camera as an actor or behind the scenes in the directional department. Acting is challenging and i used to understate the craft before this movie. I realized the amount of responsibility an actor carries to make the vision of the director come to life. I would love to play challenging and interesting characters given a chance.
